IL state income taxes to go up 75%?!?!?!?!?!

Discussion in 'Economics' started by Maverick74, Jan 7, 2011.

  1. I used to keep a "surplus" for taxes with Cali and FEDs. in 2010, I requested that the money be refunded.

  2. Chicago contracted out their lucrative parking meter revenue stream. They've jacked sales taxes near the lake from to 11.5%, property taxes are among the highest in the country.

Unfortunately they have already spent the next 20 years of projected income and their actuaries did not prepare for any type of devaluation.

Personally I'd bid on their traffic enforcement deal for camera citations and collections. Sure I'll give them 10% for the rights to ding drivers a few hundred bucks a moving picture.

They keep contracting out their money makers for a few %...

California elected a Socialist to the Governorship and he's eying Prop 13. That was passed about 30 years ago and it limits property taxes unless the property is sold outside the family... that pos wants more $ out of property owners to pay for illegals and whatnot...

You only have to know a few things 1) there is a worldwide collapse of Socialism going on 2) the public sector would not have enough money if you gave them the whole GDP every year in perpetuity and 3) WIN stands for Work Is Nonprofit... this same pos was Governor in the Carter inflation years, old people were losing their houses they had worked all their lives to pay for by the thousands because they could not pay the property taxes and the pos did nothing about it, he was more interested in the rights of people to be perverts as long as they consented and it was behind closed doors!! The insanity of the left is astonishing!! They always throw the old people out of the lifeboat too... at my age they might try to throw me out but I'll be cutting holes in it on the way...

For those of you that don’t know, let me illustrate some of the joys of living in Chicago, the city of broad shoulders:

    1) If you don’t come to an absolute complete stop when making a right turn at a red light, you get a $100 ticket in the mail with a link to a video of your infraction.
    2) If you’re holding your cell up to your ear when not completely stopping, another ticket.
    3) If you’re speeding in a construction zone because you’re on the way to court to pay the tickets and beg for court supervision then a ticket of about $375 will find its way to your mail box.
    4) Then they tow your car away because you don‘t have a certain sticker in the window to park in a certain lot and the courthouse parking could not possibly hold all the people who received automated tickets, you will have to pay the man to get the car back if you want to, you know, drive home.

That’s just a partial list. But the democrat-machine is very creative. I’m sure they’ll find more ways to extract coinage to support more big pay raises for the cronies. I would propose a robot that grabs you by the ankles and shakes all stuff out of your pockets as you walk by.

Sorry of the mockery and cynicism.

  5. Texas in general is under a serious influx of Capital and Industry which is bringing the crowds.

This is good for Texas and for skilled labor.

However, even as a Yankee transplant...Damn Yankee they call me cuz I 'm not leaving, Texas needs to really watch the influx. We gained 4 new house sets all "Capitalist" and for the constitution. However, a lot of West Coast Liberals are moving to Texas as well as East Coast liberals.

What Texas does not want is the Scumbags to make up the majority and influence "Socialism" and Anti-Capitalist and anti Small Business growth.

  6. This is all rather accurate. On Friday, I was driving and it began to snow pretty hard. I came up to a huge photo enforced intersection (where Diversey and Clybourn intersect) and the light turned yellow when I was probably ten feet from the cross walk. I had to slam on my brakes and veer to the right because a car was close behind me. All because of the fucking camera. Have you also noticed that a lot of non photo enforced stop lights have a countdown to when the light will turn yellow, while the photo enforced intersections do not? Huh, how convenient.

I'm ready to move South and pay for private school for the kids. Been here since'85, and it gets worse every year in terms of taxation versus quality-of-life return for the taxpayer. (operative term is "taxpayer")

Now that the markets have gone electronic, there really hasn't been a decent excuse to stick around other than kids in a very good public school district. But with the latest tax structure proposal, it is cheaper by leaps and bounds to leave for the sunny south and pony up for a very good private school.

  8. Not to mention the yellow lights in Chicago are ridiculous and flip quicker. What's better, getting rear-ended or getting a ticket?

I hate driving around this city. Can neighborhoods secede from the city?

It's not easy to move when you have roots. The kids don't care about taxes. They just care about their friends.

For me, the wife and I got it all worked out. When the last one goes to college, we're going going gone. We figure it's way easier to move just the two of us.

    We're counting the days.:D
