Even if the price does somehow magically come down, they'll just reduce the quantity slightly on items they can, like shelf-stable items. I mean, they can't make eggs smaller, and people would notice if a gallon of milk is no longer a gallon, but so many other items they will sneakily reduce size/quantity and only those looking for that specifically will notice it.

Some you can eyeball and know right away, like many brands of snack cakes for example. Definitely smaller in size than a few years ago. But on items like paper towels, they're clever, and will give you same number of sheets, but total square footage of product is less by trimming edges a bit. Etc etc as nauseam.

The only thing that is never affected by inflation is DRUGS and I mean illegal drugs like weed, coke etc. That's been the same price since forever :D

Inflation for me is a minor annoyance. Very minor. For instance Eggs back to $2 bucks and change. FPL dropping rates for the 2nd time this year. Etc.

Now a sister of mine told me the other day she paid $7 for a loaf of Italian Bread but that was from Union Square Eataly up in Manhattan.

    Whole nother world.

Oh, trust me they can make gallons smaller, haha. Canadian gallon = 0.86 US gallon. Shrinkflation. ;-)

Not just weed. Heroin and coke trades at rock bottom prices in Vancouver.

Same issue with chocolate and dairy in Switzerland. Though domestic prices are the fault of liberal (non existing) regulation. Google got forced to the table in the EU and dances the tango. Tell the 5 crime families in Canada who run all supermarket chains today to immediately end collusion and price gauging (evidenced by their record profit margins they report every quarter) and threaten them to either agree or otherwise lose their licenses to operate in Canada and you will see lower prices as early as tomorrow morning. But no, the political will is not there. The elites are in firm control of everything. Liberal policies have always been way worse for end consumers than healthy competition enforced by strict regulation.

That cause you guys are mostly metric, yeah? If they sold your milk in imperial gallons at the same price, you'd have the better deal than US.

The imperial gallon (used in Canada) equals 0.86 US gallons. And it costs more than a US gallon on average in the US
