No not at all. I'd like to know asap, but cost/return means I'm fine with not being the first to know. I don't trade algo's on news events, so I don't care.

But, if you want to trade algo's on news, you better make sure you've got the fastest connections... you will be competing with guys that have way more funds available to setup an ultra low-latency connection... radio waves or whatever. So you'd be behind the curve anyway, unless you're up there with them spending millions on connectivity.

So, I have DJNews etc through IB to keep up with what's happening.

Funny story on this... while Brexit was going on I was trading through the whole results, watching CNBC and BBC News. When David Cameron was giving his speech afterwards, he mentioned he was stepping down and ES dropped immediately. That didn't come down the wires a bit later. Then when he 'casually' mentioned he wouldn't resign untill after they had a new party leader probably not untill a few months... it took a while for ES to bounce back. Made a bit of money there... no algo no news wire needed...

Moral of the story, you're probably too late anyway if you're not first in line with the fastest connection and no in between steps with brokers etc.
    It's a skewed game...
