I guess many of floor traders while standing on the floor do rely on floor sentiment to feel the markets.
As a retail trader, I don't know or understand what is floating in trading. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/floating-stock.asp https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floor_trader
Is it possible to extract money without any 6th sense ? Yes it's possible. We do not need to know, neither where nor when. Even if it's a plus (Timing) to reduce costs, increase benefits. Dumbs are welcome, too.
If you've ever met someone who is an intuitive, it might change your opinion. But there are different types of intuition. Some of it is the type described in the OP, based on observation. The other seems to come from the blue, and to this somewhat intuitive trader, cannot be forced. It seems to respond best to a quiet mind and patience. Hypnosis can help, along with meditation. The hardest part is watching the market in front of you and trying to minimize the one in your head. I firmly believe that we all trade our beliefs about the market, not the market. The worst thing you can do to yourself is force a trade.
I have a good friend who is highly intuitive. You have to be careful what you think about around her. I noticed after a while that if I was off in my trading, she could tell immediately. So I made a conscious effort to run my thinking about the markets through her, talking about what was going on. If I got stuck somewhere it would become apparent quickly. Anyway she comes from a family of scientists who try to explain everything even when they can't . She used to piss her father off by finishing his sentences for him. When I explained to her that she was intuitive, it was a revelation to her. She finally could understand why she was so different from everyone else.
What's the matter, cat got your tongue? I don't think it's long enough, anyway, to satisfy this old girl. You really need to get in shape for me, honey. Do some pull ups with your tongue or something. Then you'll be ready for this old bird.
