Heh, Looks like Hezbollah does not want another beating. Okay, Israel still needs to watch out for Hamas. Oh wait. Nevermind. Not sure they are going to be able to come out of their tunnels right at the moment. And if they do Israel will destroy the remaining parts of Gaza which at this point consists of one or two buildings held up with bondo and duct tape. Of course the fact that ALL of the senior leadership of Hamas and Hezbollah have been killed and almost all of Iran's senior leadership does not help them to put on a good face. The Israelis killed the leader of Hamas so Hamas replaced him with his brother. Then the Israelis killed him too. Do you see a pattern here? Expect a Gulf of Tonkin move any day now. Those boyz over at the Pentagon aren't going to be mere spectators of an opportunity like this to use the big guns.
I think too that Iran's repeated attempts and plots to kill Trump probably weighs on his psyche in some ways and puts him at risk of seeing things that may- or may not- be there. Most historians- and Bush 2 himself- acknowledge that Saddam's attempt to kill Bush 1 in Kuwait probably probably predisposed him somewhat to see weapons of mass destruction where they were not. Not saying there were not some that were moved, just that he had a predisposition going into the evaluation. The root cause of that whole scenario was that Saddam would not allow UN inspectors in to determine what was actually true and not true. One can argue "well who the hell was the U.S to demand inspections of another country" but the conditions of surrender in the Gulf War required inspections, and Iraq got a guaranty in return that the Americans would not enter and occupy and destroy Bagdad in return or demand custody of Saddam. So while there is the above lesson for Trump, there is also one for Iran- which refuses inspections.
Bibi has been wanting to strike since Obama. He wouldn't do it under Obama or Biden but he defied Trump.
Israel, always playing the victim card. America stupid beyond belief as it gets sucked into another middle eastern religious war.
You can put me in the camp of who the hell is the United States to demand inspections, but you're right in the case of the Gulf War, inspections were part of the terms when the war ended. You can also put me in that same camp with Iran. They, and any other country, have the right to pursue nuclear energy, AND nuclear weapons, AND have as big of an army as they like. They don't need our permission, or anyone else's. Now should they choose to use those weapons, that army against another country that's a different discussion altogether. Then it's game on, obliterate them, no prisoners, kill them all, but to strike them preemptively just because they might? I can't support that. I agree that Trump probably has a skewed vision of Iran at this point, but also believe he wants to make history, in one way or another. If he can be the president that brokers a meaningful peace in the Middle East, fantastic, he'll take that. I also believe he'd be fine with option #2. Be the president that gave the green light to launch a nuclear strike against Iran and leveling the entire country. History made either way. I appreciate your position, but I don't approve of the move Israel made here. I also know my approval or disapproval means absolutely nothing. So we sit and watch as the people who run the world swing their dicks at each other while hoping it all doesn't come crumbling down on us.
Trump backed out of Obama’s Iran nuclear deal because he said he would get a better one. This is the result. It's the Middle East, even if you swing a regime change, the new guys are going to be worse.
