What's the most bizarre about all these hundreds of thousand of human casualities......
The fighting is about a jewish idol god who isn't, a mythological holy ghost which isn't, a baby fucking jesus born in a manger of a virgin which didn't happen, a dead jesus who resurrected himself after 3 days which is a lie.

Looking on the positive side of things, this might be natures way of culling humans from over populating the earth.

Matthew 12:31-32: “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

More bible bunkum so sheeple will fear and worship the jewish idol god.

Let's use some logic, if you're capable of understanding logic.
If you read a book which was full of double talk, inconsistencies, hypocrisy, mumbo jumbo, untruths, inaccuracies, riddles, myths, legends, biases, hate, bigotry, exaggeration, half truths, fear mongering, claims to be inspired by God...etc, would you then believe a verse which said: "whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven".

Whoever wrote that must think he's God to pronounce judgement.

The Bible, the Torah, the Quran, the Analects of Confucius, the Rig Veda, the Tripitaka, the Mahayana Sutras, the Tibetan Book of the Dead.... All are stories meant to give man a spiritual reason for being. Some believe, others (like myself) don't.

In some other post I detailed my coming to Jesus moment when I briefly lived in China. I came to understand religion as a means to shame, threaten or instill fear into Man by evoking spirits and gods to abide by normative behaviors in a world of barbarism. The others sources of power, hierarchy and particularly strength, served to protect and expand ownership to anything that could be taken. To assemble warriors one needed incentives and gold and paradise sure sounded attractive. Thus the tripartite religion, hierarchy and warriors.

Mind you, despite years of evolution, we aren't far from our primitive foundations. Religious fundamentalists and political extremists all harp back to a mythical simple life of taking from the weak, demonstrating valor to the hierarchy for promotion all wrapped in devotion to a religion validating their actions. That's basically the crux of all these survivalist fringe groups hoping for and all prepped up for an apocalypse.

I think humans in general gravitate toward some religious belief or other, it's part of our childhood which never matured, eg we believed in Santa as kids, as adults we believe in some god or other depending on what country you live in.

But it goes further than that, political leaders, kings, queens, royalty, heirachy, manipulate a mythical story to suit their ends in order to bring people / sheeple to step into line.

Even the heathens living in a particular religious country won't much profane the 'church', because in the back of their minds they have a sneaky suspicion maybe this made up, man made God is real.

Yup, I'm convinced church and politics are joined at the hip, in lockstep, inspite of denials and there being a 'church and state seperation'.

Under pressure, the government of Lebanon is no longer allowing Iran to fly in planes full of cash to fund Hezbollah.

Iranian plane raided and diplomat's cash seized after 'mission to fund Hezbollah'
Iranian and Lebanese media reported that Lebanese intelligence officials were alerted to the potential plan ahead of the flight's arrival at the Rafik Hariri International Airport on Thursday.

This does not bode well for Hezbollah in Lebanon. The military chief has been elected President. In his first speech as President, he stated very clearly "the state has the exclusive right to carry arms, drawing loud applause as lawmakers from Hezbollah -- which runs its own military forces -- sat still." Previously he has stated that the Lebanese military needs to totally disarm Hezbollah using force.

The future is looking bleak for Hezbollah -- the people of Lebanon are no longer going to put up with these terrorists. Shortly the IDF will be the least of Hezbollah's worries in Lebanon.

Lebanon is a gunpowder keg... The country is a mishmash of clans of various ethnic and religious groups. All are heavily armed and all have fought each other for long periods of time. Shia Hezbollah is the most powerful because financed and armed by Shia Iran but should efforts to curtail cash flows and arms succeed, it will be interesting to see how they react, from threatening war in Lebanon to supporting a transition towards a peaceful democratic state. Key to Israel is for Hezbollah to focus its attention away from destroying the Jewish state to focus on its role as a non militarized political entity in Lebanon.
