Japan should be watched and studied. They are the Guinea pig for USA. They were first in bubbling their real estate. They were ahead of US with experimenting with Quantitative Fed Easing and then Fed buying and cornering their bond market (and mostly their stock market). They were first with depopulation..but they never allow large immigrant influx after. They are a microcosm of USA economics and anything that happens to them will happen to USA shortly after. Bitcoin was developed with the Japanese currency in mind..to stem the loss in value of personal savings because of devaluation. This would suggest that Japan will always have a very dovish currency policy. USA keeps a dovish currency policy mostly to off-set all of the exporting country's currency devaluations. The Fed tried to keep interest rates artificially low as long as possible..but the debt and the very poor financial management of the USA has limited that ability. Japan also has very poor financial management as a country and their central bank realized that raising interest rates would allow them to control interest rates and not the market. If their central bank had not increased interest rates..the market would have. This would suggest that USA will no longer have low interest rates in the foreseeable future. And that "in the longer term" the markets will decide..rather than the Fed. Japan doesnt hold a reserve currency and that makes all the difference. USA will eventually lose the reserve currency status (maybe quicker than most realized). The Euro would be able to overtake it as a more stable financial structure with less debt. But I fear that China backed BRICS common currency is much further developed than we think. And finally..as the Japanese realized, the New Reserve World Currency may indeed be a type of crypto currency..as Govts are not to be Trusted. Maybe a Crypto Currency tethered to Gold? Maybe a crypto currency tethered to a basket of BRICS currencies with the Chinese RMB being that Major within the Basket? Japan has chosen sides away from BRICS. So they will soon need to decide whether to trade heavily with them and then eventually settle in their currency. It they dont..they will eventually crash and burn as a financial Structure..then the USA will follow with a huge devaluation and bond re-pricing some years afterwards
The US status quo's future is to become another Japan. Elon did what he could, Trump's energy policy better kick into gear this year.
U.S. average breakeven crude price is right around the current futures price. If his energy "policy" is anything like trade "policy" many many will declare bankruptcy soon enough. People are sayin'. Did you know that, what people are sayin' ......... many many? Also its big, its beautiful too.
