Speculation in commodities seems harmless, but there are huge costs to human lives and the environment around the world. Gold in general has great PR. It's slick, it's hip, it's bling. But in a remote corner of West Africa, it's killing children. Lead from illegal gold mines in northwestern Nigeria has sparked what Doctors Without Borders has called the worst case of environmental lead poisoning in years. Gold mining has resulted in nearly 200,000 tons of mercury released in South America alone. ... levels in rivers and lakes, kills wildlife, and poisons drinking water supplies.
Like Jim, most people are homeless by choice = enjoy the freedom... Jim teaches Cantonese to all the other hobos = very rewarding... It sure beats hanging out with a sociopath like Soros.
That's the dark side of capitalism. Suits the greedy and uncaring sort of person admirably. Adiction to making money at any cost !! These eco terrorists trash this planet for their own selfishness. Should be in prison imho The illegal tree loggers of Amazonia etc. should have their machinery strafed by the air force - that would slow the bastards down a bit !!
Have you calculated the amount of pollution that you yourself contribute which is is killing people? Might be a better starting point than pointing fingers at others.
I have not read the whole thread. But here seem to be an interest in Jim Rogers (and George Soros) net worth. Jim Rogers: 300 millions USD George Soros: somewhere between 19 and 22 billions USD Numbers can be found several places, like this one: http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-businessmen/wall-street/jim-rogers-net-worth/
It's easy for a FAT city dude in white suit to say, "Become a farmer"... And live at the mercy of weather and insects and wolves, etc.
Don't be too defensive. I am not Jim Rogers and I am not touting speculations in commodities.... and I don't speculate in commodities, just stock index futures which is nearly a zero sum game. Thank you TA, but I think the only reason people are interested in Rogers' net worth is because he is on the tube so often and invariably associated with the phrase billionaire, incorrectly so.
