US officials relieved to not repeat 'debacle' of Putin 'running circles around Trump' CNN's Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday said that American officials have worked hard to avoid a "debacle" during this week's meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin like the one former President Donald Trump oversaw three years ago. Among other things, Amanpour noted that President Joe Biden's team successfully got Putin to agree to show up first to the meeting, as the Russian president has in the past kept world leaders waiting by showing up as much as four hours late to summits. "It is significant that the United States asked and got the agreement from Putin that he would come first to the meeting, would not hold up the whole affair, would not keep President Biden waiting, that there would be separate news conferences," she said. "The Americans didn't want the repeat of the disaster and the debacle of Putin running circles around Trump in Helsinki, which we were all at." During a joint press conference with Putin three years ago, Trump indicated that he believed the Russian leader that he did not interfere in the 2016 election by ordering the hacking of the Clinton campaign's emails because Putin was "extremely strong and powerful in his denial."
Yup, Joe's handlers are trying to portray a show of strength by making sure that Joe DOES NOT appear on the same stage with Putin for a press Q&A. Not a person on the planet- unless they are a low-T dem- who does not smell the weakness there.

I reluctantly put points up on the board for Joe for being quite organized in his opening remarks. Now I learn that he had a teleprompter running. See Spot take those points down off the board. Sure, but just maybe the German people might have a view toward the Americans and the dipshit EU that did nothing to either stop their dependence on the pipeline or in the alternative keep it running if it went forward. And yeh, I get that the EU does not exactly have the power to stop it but that only reinforces the fact that they are worthless tits if a mess shapes up. Anyway if Joe wants to disrupt the pipeline to Germany to take shots at Putin, believe me that is not a game he wants to play. He needs to worry about the opposite, ie. Putin messing with the pipeline flow if it looks like Germany is problematic to him on NATO and Ukraine matters in general. What a mess.
Say what you want but that was Biden’s centerpiece as related to cyber. Biden also eluded to the US having the capability to distance itself from cyber attacks. On the other hand our domestic terrorist right wingers prove to be a point of weakness again and again on the world stage. Putin is actively recruiting you guys.
Probably true if you in fact meant to use the word "eluded" rather than "alluded." Joe eludes the substance of most questions.
