Then down a couple paragraphs tries to emphasize that the white house is maintaining a "hands off" approach and just letting the cdc do its thing. So the Biden administration is on the case for the CDC to issue clear mask guidance for K-12 students returning to school this fall. Many students are not eligible for vaccination and the large majority has not been vaccinated. Asking that the CDC come out with clear guidance before school starts up is exactly what the executive branch should be doing. This is even more critical in view of the rising Delta variant cases across the U.S.
