give me an example of an insurance company that cancelled a policy because the guy got sick.

No, do your own research, that former employee now has private insurance, it goes on for as long as they pay for it. No expiration date.

I only posted because I'm sick of your lying democrat talking points. Do your own research and post me that example of insurance being cancelled because the customer was sick. If that was true, who would ever buy insurance? Do you democrats think insurance only covers you if you are healthy?

Where the shit hits the fan for Obamacare is no pre existing restriction. So now, I don't need insurance until I am diagnosed with cancer. And then, I am your problem.

Which is a subject other than what loyek posted. Going out and getting a policy "like other self-employed people" is considerably more expensive than working for someone who provides health insurance. And one doesn't just "go on" Medicaid.

The fact remains that if one loses his job, he has no insurance unless he buys a personal policy, which is where the ACA comes in. If he can find a policy on his own that is cheaper, the ACA is not a requirement.

If he pays the full cost. As I said above, that's where the ACA comes in. If he can find private insurance that is less, no one is forcing him to use the ACA.

well, he is not going to find any private insurance that is less, because his new policy must be ACA compliant. No more catastrophic without maternity coverage. So basically, you and Obama screwed him unless he can stay unemployed long enough to qualify for a subsidy, and then you and Obama screwed me. What is it about you shithead ignorant democrats? You can't help somebody without screwing somebody else. You just want control over who gets screwed. And it's not just dollar for dollar. The government takes a dollar from me, and the poor guy is lucky to get 75 cents. 25 cents goes to grease the palm of the government.

You're mixing up the world before the ACA, the world with the ACA, and the world if the ACA is repealed. Perhaps if you could stop ranting long enough for the red mist in front of your eyes to dissipate, you might be able to find answers instead of FoxNews dogma.

FOX tells as many lies as the democrats, and yes, I am talking about the world before ACA. So now you screw it all up and claim you are saving people who lose their insurance, when in fact, you and Obama are in many cases the reason they lost their insurance. Beat me up, drive around the block, and then stop and save me.

Why won't you just admit the whole thing is a failure, the new insured are just the new on Medicaid. We could have just expanded Medicaid, which I think is a decent idea and saved everybody else the trouble. I'd pay extra to give somebody Medicaid.

otherwise, I agree with Carson. we need to eliminate for profit insurance. Better for the government just to give everybody a catastrophic policy, enough to keep most out of bankruptcy if the bad health thing happens, and then...Leave Us Alone!

I'm not trying to save anybody. I'm merely pointing out that before the ACA one could lose one's insurance over a pre-existing condition or due to an expensive illness. The ACA made those actions illegal.

another democrat lie. Before the ACA you couldn't lose your insurance just because you got sick. They told everybody that was true. Maybe they were too stupid to realize they were wrong. You sound like you also fall into that category. I'm waiting. I've asked repeatedly for you to give me just ONE example of somebody, anybody, that ever lost their health insurance because they got sick. Even if you lie when you applied for insurance, they couldn't cancel you because you lied about a pre existing. Why don't you read the law instead of telling everybody who doesn't support your democrat lies to do research.
