  6. Well, I don't agree with the carried interest loophole. I do agree with not raising the marginal tax rates. I mean, if I had it my way we would fund the entire government with a combination of progressive wealth and sales taxes, no income taxes of any type.

    Your tax proposal is a little too progressive for Republicans. They're OK with the sales tax, but they don't like a wealth tax, especially a progressive one, even though that might solve a lot of problems. A variation on this this theme that's worth considering, and one that some economists favor, is a progressive real estate tax.
