The video was posted online in February 2020 and shows an incident on ASU campus, the university said. One of the earliest iterations of the video was posted by a group called Students for Trump at ASU on Twitter in February 2020. https://ghostarchive.org/archive/oQ7kX The slightly longer version was captioned, in part: “CRAZY LEFTIST ON COLLEGE CAMPUS Watch as a tolerant leftist threatens to ‘slash the throat’ of @realDonaldTrump.” The group, which shared a second video showing a different angle of the incident, said the person in the video “threatened to slash our throats.” https://archive.md/4kaxU wrbtrader
Crooks’ body was found on the rooftop of an agricultural tool manufacturing plant a few hundred feet from the rally with an AR-style semiautomatic rifle — legally purchased by his father. The shooter was wearing a T-shirt promoting “The Demolition Ranch,” a YouTube channel for gun enthusiasts. Jason Kohler, told reporters Sunday that students tormented Crooks “almost every day” and that he often wore “hunting” outfits to class. According to federal campaign records, the rally gunman donated $15 to a progressive political action committee in 2021 but he subsequently registered as a Republican, Pennsylvania voter data show. Max R. Smith recalled taking an American history course with Crooks as a sophomore. He did recall Crooks making political statements — but they shed no light on his actions Saturday. “He definitely was conservative,” he said. “It makes me wonder why he would carry out an assassination attempt on the conservative candidate.” Smith recalled a mock debate in which their history professor posed government policy questions and asked students to stand on one side of the classroom or the other to signal their support or opposition for a given proposal. “The majority of the class were on the liberal side, but Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side,” Smith said. “That’s still the picture I have of him. Just standing alone on one side while the rest of the class was on the other.” The former classmate also recalled Crooks as generally kind and intelligent, if reserved. Crooks donated $15 to ActBlue in 2021 but registered GOP in 2023.
I'm sure his classmate was of a similar age and didn't have a completely formed prefrontal cortex either. Are you trying to support my point? The bottom line is pointing fingers doesn't work, accepting responsibility does. It's nearing the end of Joe's term and the excuses are wearing thin. He needs to stand on his record or pass the baton... and his record is plain to see. His own words in the last few days have been "vote your conscience" and "we can't continue on this road". Those lines are easy to read between.
Self evidently he did not like Trump, or he wouldn't have tried to shoot him. He did express conservative views at every opportunity and was not a liberal. You have a number of pathological liars on this board wanting really hard for Crooks to be a liberal, though. It's ironic because it's irrelevant, nobody in their right mind regardless of political affiliation decides to shoot political opponents.
