I looked briefly at site, but very little actual trading methodology provided, so I focused on your 10 most recent trades in SPX. Most were losing trades, with a net loss as well.

However, what was most disturbing was that from May 27th thru June 15, all the SPX spreads were bull ones. In one of most powerful bear markets in years, that did stand-out. Does that mean all the so-called AI, including all the theoretical results for past x number of years, were only traded from the long side?

If that is true, IMO this is a totally worthless approach to markets. Or am I missing something?

For reference the system is deep green for 2022 vs the Benchmark (something that you can easily see on the site).

What you are missing is that the system is not trying to predict the future (in directional terms). There is no point on designing a system that tells you that the market is going up or down in 3 sessions as that is clearly impossible. Instead, we try to extract statistical edge from an ideal binary trade (which is replicated with a vertical spread), if the system considers that the binary is overpriced then we sell it, if it considers that the binary is underpriced we buy it. We don't know if the market will be up or down (in the same way that you don't know what number will be next in the roulette) but we try to extract edge from the binary mispricing and it works (the analogy would be finding a casino that overpays for a particular bet, no one knows the future outcome but we know that the bet is favorable to us).

If you pay close attention to the reply you will notice that the system uses an ideal binary option (not a vanilla one), so we go long or short the binary which by definition provides us with a system that always has defined risk. Risk is always known before even entering the trade.

I have no idea who deleted my message. It wasn't me.

The math is very simple, a binary option is basically a vertical spread whose width approaches 0.

Binary Call = Lim w->0 Cw (in this Cw is a vertical Call spread with width approaching 0).

You don't need a discrete strip of verticals at all, just a single one that is very tight. Perhaps you are thinking about more complex exotic options? Binaries are so simple to replicate, this discussion should not even be an argument at all.

I want to clarify that we are not seeking a perfect replication, of the binary, and that a width of 5 on an underlying that is at 3666 is "small" enough for the purposes of the trading system. Of course it would be fantastic if we had a healthy market of pure SPX binaries but we don't and we have to work with what we have.

Thanks for the explanation, which clarifies what is likely a worthless approach. The whole point of trading/investing is that it is NOT like gambling. And to think that any cloud-based system available to the public, could be ahead of the multi-billions by major firms to capitalize on every mispricing is also unlikely.

    Moneza-Rob,

This is intended as helpful feedback. The first post reads like a buzzword (AI generated), print copy. :) Heavy marketing, like the website.

These days everyone slaps on the "AI" moniker on just about anything, such that is becomes meaningless. Anyone who knows AI, knows it is like saying "car". They can be junk or great and everything in between. It is pretty easy to build mediocre ML systems.

To me it seems the strength is in your teams experience trading algo and the AI (ML et. al) stuff is just another tool.

    Best of luck.

  10. The Bull Call Spreads on SPX are binary as you discuss @Moneza , but are all (10 trades published) priced at >50% of the spread, so can only produce less than 100% maximum profit vs 100% max loss, which is fine with an appropriately high win rate.

Unfortunately, with 6 losers and 4 winners, the strategy is running at a loss.

Presumably it works fine in a bull market, but then so would buying the AtM bull call spread without needing (paying for) the steer from AI.

All four of the "Synthetic" strategies are showing a loss for the most recent trade and also YTD. "Synthetic 3 - PTF" is down 22%.

I'm not seeing why anyone with basic arithmetic ability would sign up, which suggests to me that you're trying to attract those without basic arithmetic ability.
