I don’t travel and have zero interest in it. Were not exactly culture starved in Canada. Even in a small town, you can find a Thai place or Indian or whatever else. So what’s the point of spending thousands just to do something I can do down the street? “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door…” And before anyone jumps in — yes, I am reducing travel to just eating at a restaurant. I literally get the same experience eating Thai food here as I would in Thailand. Culture, food, atmosphere… the S̄ìng thậngh̄md.. It's like a mini vacation without all the hassle.
I'm not sure that a population living longer is a barometer of success but rather of eating well. Japan's fate is far more than a math problem, it's a fundamental adjustment that they aren't willing to fully address. For the rest of the world, it's a real life experiment. Increased life expectancy but no one to care for the elderly and social security funding concerns. Over 800k fewer japanese in 2024 alone. Many jobs unfilled. Last time I was in Japan I was surprised to find East Indians working behind the counters at many of the 7-11 stores. Upon asking, they revealed that life was hard for them, isolation and racism. Clearly, they're not wanted. I guess they'd rather see the convenience store shut down? Italy is another country with dire population growth. The countryside towns are deserted and we've all read about the $1 deals to buy abandoned homes. Unlike Japan, illegal immigration is overwhelming the system, mostly young men from North and Black Africa looking for local opportunities or as a stepping stone to elsewhere in Europe, where relatives may be. This in turn has helped far right nationalist parties win elections, a sure sign that Italians aren't accepting their integration, even to fill jobs Italians won't take. I like to use a real example of the consequences of this. Anyone familiar with St Barth is the Caribbean islands know it for its rich and famous lifestyle. But centuries ago it was populated by Indian Arawaks, then invaded by Europeans with their slaves. Eventually the slaves wrestled their freedom and with time occupied much of the island and mixed with locals indians. Except for a few white families who refused to mix, raised barricades and lived autonomously for a couple hundred years. As a result, the white became inbreds with all of the metamorphism linked to it. In the 80s when I visited, the St. Barths was a euphemism for the white imbreds living on the island, obviously recognizable, descendants of the whites who chose their destiny. The wealthy countries of the world are losing their population, a well understood global mechanism; increased wealth = fewer children. There will come a time when a nation's growth will depend entirely on welcoming immigrants in, regardless of Elon Musk goal of replacing labor with compliant robots to avoid mixing races (that's what I think). To the dismay of some, 1000 years from now humanity will be brown or imbred.
Asians are xenophobes. I went to a majority Asian high school (Fremont, CA) & university (Berkeley) and what surprised me was each individual Asian race hated every other Asian race except my Filipino friends. One of my best friend's from high school was a very wealthy Taiwanese lady and she even hated people from mainland China and Hong Kong. It should be no surprise that Asians don't want immigration. The same is true in Europe. Italy, German, Switzerland, etc. are all xenophobes as well. I used to go to Frankfurt & Bern for business all the time and I would be called all kinds of racial slurs by the locals (I am north Indian). The Swiss are particularly a racist bunch. In 1982 in high school in supposed liberal SF Bay Area I was called sand nigger multiple times a day. They were so stupid they didn't even know I wasn't Iranian.
No one particularly likes people not exactly like them. Hospitals in the Bay are filled with Filipino nurses, because the hiring managers are Filipino. I didn't get a job one day, because the hiring manager was a lesbian who eventually hired a lesbian. Polices forces and Fire dept in SF were almost exclusively Irish until they were told to cut the crap and started hired Italians. NY longshore labor was exclusively white until they were sued and were forced to admit blacks who created their own Locals. Black people pay more attention to other black people's skin color than whites do. I could go on and on about this. It is the way of the world, but evolution is recognizing that we can and must integrate, because we're better when we do. This is why when confronted with complicated problems, politicians and CEOs and scientists gather up people from different backgrounds to get a full picture before making decisions. People from different backgrounds usually have unique perspectives that can be useful for all sorts of reasons. If they could, some would take us back to a time when white men held all powers, in government, in business, in society and at home and they lament the way of the world today. It's ridiculous.

In 1979, I was a student at Skyline High in Oakland. At the time almost 40% of the student body was black, 30% white and the rest a mix of Hispanic, Asian and others. I remember when the US embassy was stormed in Tehran, we had a general brawl in the school yard.... A dozen Iranian kids against a couple dozen black kids. The only whites were the school supervisors trying to break it up. A few months later, a group of junior stoners thought it would be cool to sew a confederate flag on the back of their jackets despite a majority of the senior stoners telling them it was stupid and wanting nothing to do with them. Didn't take long for them to take those off after some coming to Jesus talks with some flatland niggas explaining to them the meaning of that flag. I was coming from Europe and American HS was like landing on another planet.
I don't believe this point one bit. I'm a white male, and I honestly have had enough. It has been said before, and I agree, that white people are actually perhaps one of the most tolerant. You guys are describing very well here how Asians and Blacks and other ethnicities are extremely racist, as of course are White people, but its always assumed that its just the bad White man. One phrase that has stuck with me is that it seems to be generally what were predominately white countries that need to be integrated. Why is that? Why is it forced on these countries? And before people assume that white people stole everything and so other ethnicities have a right to their good quality of life, ask why is it that they have more? (I know the IMF has fucked up many countries though). I strongly believe that the countries that people are fleeing have fucked up religions and fucked up cultures, and that is why its a shit country that people want to flee. Perhaps even a fucked up dictator. So overthrow him! If all these people do is invade other countries and bring their same religious bullshit and way of life to the new country, it turns into the shit hole they left. You see, these people don't want to integrate. They just want to invade and conquer and get free handouts. If your fucked up God couldn't protect you in your old country and by some magic you end up in a better country, don't bring your God with you. I know even White people often don't get along with other White people, but forced integration of different cultures, religions and ethnicities doesn't work. Its forced by the elite in order to destabilize the world because they know its a destabilizing factor. Then the solution that is proposed is mass surveillance, and we get to where we almost are. Forced integration is just like arranged marriages. But at least with an arranged marriage, the girl or guy might not like eachother, but the parents are somewhat trying to act in their best interest. With forced integration, its the opposite... designed to destabilize.
