A wonderful miniseries about a girl chess player: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen's_Gambit_(miniseries)
A (lengthy) review and analysis by a professional film critic: Meet the Female Chess Champion Who Will Win Your Heart https://www.thedailybeast.com/netfl...its-female-chess-champion-will-win-your-heart
This one just became my favorite series. Very well done, I rarely watch series as they easly bore the hell out of me. I love chess so I am biased. But even for the non chess lover, the scenary, the acting and the story are very well done, with some great references. Anya Taylor-Joy is beautiful and perfectly fit the part. I consider it a great series for traders because of chess implications. I see a lot of correlation between chess and trading/investing. Another great series about finance and trading, is called "I Diavoli". But the Queen's Gambit is beautiful in the details.
I let my wife have run of the programming when she gets home from work, and I usually go to another room and do some homework or watch something else. She happened on this last night and I admit I started watching and liked it so far. A rarity if it lasts for us to enjoy watching the same show.
Imo, the story resonates because the main character is so deeply flawed. Her mind is brilliant, but it’s her struggle with her inner demons that connects to the viewer. Great series.
Yes, I liked it very much! Watched all episodes even in just one run IMO a well made story and movie. I think it deserves a continuation, ie. a 2nd season.
