    Join the happy club, Scat.

FC does not want to learn the actual cost of shipping oil via rail versus shipping via pipeline. Nor does he want to understand why stopping the Keystone XL pipeline is a pyrrhic victory that will only increase production of oil in Canada and the amount shipped to the U.S.

Don't bother FC with actual facts.

So in summary, 4 large oilsand firms in Canada make a deal with environmental groups to get approval of pipelines.

Why do you ask? These four oilsand firms are the leading promoters of pipelines. Pipelines give these firms a significant competitive advantage over other firms that must ship via high cost rail.

In one obscene action, these four large firms are putting their competitors out of business. In exchange for a cap in emissions by the Alberta province (which does not cap the planned production of the four firms but only allows their competitors to divide the remaining small cap allocation among the other firms).

How did the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and other oil firms take this underhanded deal? They are pissed. "Tempers flared when the four oilsands leaders briefed the CAPP members last week".

Oil firms, environmental groups make secret deal
Bargain between four leading companies and environmentalists outrages players left on the sidelines
