Now I know why righties are so deluded about global warming

Well, lets forget that ALL of the proxy data shows temps LEADING CO2, what caused the temps to spike?

Hell, lets assume you're right and CO2 leads temps. What the hell caused the spike in the CO2?

  2. The temps caused a CO2 spike because CO2 outgasses from the earth as the earth temps rise. A warm earth cannot hold as much CO2 so it outgasses. This causes more greenhouse effect, the earth warms, so it outgasses more etc etc. This is a positive feedback loop and the interdependent nature of CO2 and temp. This runaway process proceeds until the balance tips the other way due to orbital changes and then the opposite process occurs.

Interesting link, thank you. From the link:

So does this mean the orbital positioning is ripe for us entering a cooling stage?

He will tell you that AGW will prevent such a cooling from occurring, regardless of orbital (or solar) variances that have caused ice ages in Earth's history.

Ah, well then. If the guy who made the internet says something, it's gotta be true.

Here’s something that we’ve been saying around here for years, but when it comes from an MIT climate professor. Global Warming is purely an excuse for big government politicians to grab as much power and raise as many taxes as they can.

    from CBS Boston (emphasis mine):

While Gov. Deval Patrick and others painted a dire picture of what global warming might do to us, others are more skeptical.

MIT Professor Richard Lindzen is a leading international expert on climate change.

“The changes that have occurred due to global warning are too small to account for,” he told WBZ-TV. “It has nothing to do with global warming, it has to do with where we live.”

Lindzen endorses sensible preparedness and environmental protection, but sees what he terms “catastrophism” in the climate change horror stories.

“Global warming, climate change, all these things are just a dream come true for politicians. The opportunities for taxation, for policies, for control, for crony capitalism are just immense, you can see their eyes bulge,” he says.

“Even many of the people who are supportive of sounding the global warning alarm, back off from catastrophism,” Lindzen said. “It’s the politicians and the green movement that like to portray catastrophe.”

  10. Yes in about 50,000 years if CO2 levels come down to normal. But in the meantime CO2 pollution will cause the temps to continue to rise, as they have been.
