Oh, were going to "send" more high tech weapons your way, for sure.

They may be well armed, but not nearly well armed enough. As for armor, they have none of any note. Their only hope is to hide behind civilians which, sadly, I'm sure they're going to do.

I really just can't believe this shit... Do you guys know just how fucking massive Iraq is?? I'm sitting here watching the place I spent so much time in, fall like Saigon fell after all we did there... This is too surreal.

  4. I agree but it won't happen until terrorists set off a nuke in the U.S., hopefully in one of our cities as opposed to an EMP strike where it could potentially do far more overall damage.

  6. They are capturing armor daily. Armor the Iraqi army is leaving behind as they bail out. This new group ISIS is also well lead. Kill crazy bastard for sure, but he also knows field tactics. This is not your typical group of loosely organized malcontents. This is an army of psychopaths. Battle hardened, combat tested, and more than willing to die for the cause. They also have American citizens and other western nationals that they have recruited and will continue to recruit. What we're seeing is the evolution of terrorism. It's growing. It's getting stronger and more organized. They're building a nation right before our eyes.

Good points. The terrorism is only growing because the fundamentalism is growing, though, as terrorism is merely tactic and cannot be an end in itself. "Shock and awe" is our kinder, gentler version. Muslim fundamentalism, well all religious fundamentalism, is what we need to focus on. Find its roots and cut it off there. In the meantime, we gotta kill em or they kill us. I think we can do it, with our allies.

  8. Just goes to highlight the futility of our being involved in the ME. Those ragheads have been killing each other for THOUSANDS of years before America was a county. We can't save everybody in the world from themselves.

We should BUTT THE FUCK OUT of the ME... bring the troops home to defend our borders.... and leave them to their religious wars. Just let them know, "do what you will over there, but if mess with the bull you'll get the horn.

  9. From the article linked below. Apparently the policy of hoping the problem in Syria would just work itself out hasn't worked so well. The place has proven to be a training ground and recruitment center. No doubt some of these folks will be bringing their new found talents back home.

"There is very little first-hand intelligence from Iraq or Syria; the majority of foreign fighters have traveled via Turkey. Authorities in France believe some 800 French nationals have travelled to Syria, or intend to. Analysts believe as many as 100 American citizens have made the trek. One additional concern: most Europeans are able to travel to the U.S. without visas.

French and German citizens have carried out suicide bombings in Syria this year. So has at least one American. Last month, 22-year old Moner Mohammad Abusalha from Florida became the first American suicide bomber in Syria, after joining ISIS rival and al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra."

The border thing is outrageous. I like the idea of the military closing the borders.

But I can't help but regard all of these insurgencies as an opportunity to kill a lot of bad folks. The more islamofacist militants we kill the better.

For a number of reasons, not just what is happening in the middle-east, we ought to turn the USAF loose here in a big way. That road between Tikrit and Baghdad should be turned into a corridor of charred steel and smoldering terrorists.

Caliphate? Time to bring out the B1B Lancer.

Or we can wait till Manhattan is a smoking hole and go from there. Either way the job is going to have to get done.
