OK, who is going to lie and say they saw today's HUGE drop in the charts?

  1. It’s called Gouging. I hate to break it to you sport, even those do-gooder, organic farmers will clip you at the knees when you’re not looking.

I think in reality most bears were not "loaded up" with inverse etfs into the actual news. Almost no one went into today confidently shorting markets hard. It was crickets on here in bear land for several days running. Don't get sucked into day trader hype there is no free lunch.

Not all costs are transportation (higher crude prices) related.

You have you heard about labor costs rising and probably their raw goods (milk, etc) too. Commercial rents just like residential have gone up a lot in the past year.

I built and sold two businesses. One retail, one services. I was always amazed (not really) at how little customers understood or cared about what my expenses were. Only, how come so much?

My observation is that means you were underweight your normal "inverses". So you hardly saw it coming. A gamble into a news event is not easy money otherwise you'd have $100K in SQQQ or UVXY overnight.

No, I could post numerous links, including to Twitter of people I know who were loading up. Puts were VERY heavy apparently. I was disinterested so didn't check.

I knew a move was coming, but did not know which way. I parceled into my brain that if the print was as expected, which was soft, I would have layered into my long. But when I saw the core CPI was higher than expected as much as it was, I said "Welp, there goes the idea of a long layer." Then as I watched markets fall as much as they did, I was like well F that.

I was NOT expecting the markets to drop as deep as it did today. Holy shit. So I am sittin' on hands, because Eurasian markets are not going to like that, no sir!

So now comes the waiting game into next week's Fed decision. *sighs*

But that is what I have learned over the years...I finally have the discipline to not make a rash trading decision!

I didn't suggest the market is going to wait until next week. I suggested that I will be waiting until next week.

Everyone saw the big drop. Even the blind could see.

But we couldn't predict the big drop

Exactly re underweight re overnight... calculated small winning risk . Trading large overnight would have been a gamble.

I traded many 1000s UVXY today for daytrading, That was skill.
