  3. So let me get this straight, we are going to be rewarded with a healthcare plan that we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least 10 million more people, without adding a single new doctor to see those additional people, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents just in case "enforcement" is required for the "volunteers" who just love the idea, written by a committee who's chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it, but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who knows it's unconstitutional, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, but we will be taxed to pay for it all, must wait four years before any benefits take effect, by a government that has already bankrupted social security and medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that is broke. What could possibly go wrong?

It did go to the country's highest court and was upheld. Do you think you are qualified better than supreme court to call it unconstitutional??? Roberts labeled it as a tax.

That's it the case is closed.. All this whining reminds me of the left not being able to let go of Bush's Florida win.

Once supreme court rules, the game is over.

  6. Suppose the SC ruled that the 2nd Amendment doesn't allow private citizens to own firearms. Or suppose they ruled that an individual could be fined or imprisoned for criticizing public officials. Both are clearly protected freedoms in the Bill of Rights (and throughout our history), would you still say case closed/game over?

This is no different, and this argument has been had many times on here. there is no justification in the Constitution for any of these federal social programs, but the SC keeps allowing them. Jefferson knew this was a problem way back: http://www.streetlaw.org/en/Page/284/Thomas_Jeffersons_Reaction. imo, decisions of this magnitude should be treated like an Amendment, with a large majority of both houses of Congress and the States being necessary for the law to pass.. not left up to nine people who, despite their knowledge of the law, may have the collective integrity of bernie madoff.

And the 'tax' is called a penalty in the legislation itself. Like Scalia said about the ruling "A penalty can't be a tax, you couldn't call it a pig, could you?" (something like that).

But you've failed to realize its unconstitutional. NO WHERE in the Constitution is it feasible for the government to force FREE AMERICAN CITIZENS to purchase a product from a third party. I don't give a fuck how much love John Roberts (yes, Bush's fault), loves Onazi care. It's still an unconstitutional law that never should have been, and will HARM America in more ways than financial...:(

  8. This you don't have to, but we'll fine you if you don't philosophy has opened many doors. Their interpretation of it is like getting a speeding ticket. You don't really have to do the speed limit, but you'll be fined if you don't. What's next? You don't have to own an electric car, you'll just be fined/taxed if you don't. You don't have to keep your energy costs below a certain limit, but you'll be taxed if you don't. You don't have to do________fill in the blank, but you'll be taxed if you don't. THAT is what's coming, and we all know it. Anyone who thinks this is good for the people is a card carrying commie. There's just no other way to slice it.
