No disrespect with the below.... but can you throw us another bone regarding what stock you are currently digging into? And that's a compliment. It is. ...Oscar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_the_Grouch
You should develop your own methodologies, position size, risk management, focus, sandbox to play in. I've done worked hard and long to get to this point and regularly get things wrong. There is very little reinforcement for what I do on this forum, in fact over the years there have been many more detractors than not. It is a lonely road. I'd say most are too lazy, under focused, and need hand holding. They quit before 10,000 hours of education gets put in. I search for growth companies that will have accelerating earnings with great leaders, hopefully with a back of napkin analysis I can work out with my simple understanding. I did this to an extent with TSLA (documented here) twice, failed miserably with a vaccine company (documented here), might have gotten lucky with PLTR (here publicly), and am flirting a bit with this company. I have a few other things that are much smaller positions as I do not understand them well. 50% port in low cost index funds as I am getting more risk averse. What am I looking into? I've compiled a watchlist of public drone related companies. I'm unsure I want to step into this area yet. At a minimum in a few years I can look back at the list and should on myself. Edit: Your post reminds me of a neighbor punk that wanted some money, asked if we had any work for him here, looked like a strung out addict. He failed to even introduce himself or extend a handshake. I won't be hiring him.
The neighbor punk/addict is likely establishing contact in case he decides to commit as it won't be a lie later if LE interviews him and asks if he's ever done work around your house. It's grooming behavior, generally used to scam, B&E, not for assault.
Not sure I see how my post reminds you of your neighbor, I was making a joke, in reference to the fact that sometimes here when you speak to others you tend to come off demeaning and yes, sometimes grouchy. But wtf does that have to do with a crack-head neighbor that wanted to mow your lawn or something. Regarding "developing my own methods"... pretty sure I'm pretty solid in that regard. As I said, I was actually paying you a compliment... by asking what you are looking at. Ever seen me do that with anyone else here? Put two and two together, I was showing you respect. Sorry if you didn't find Elmo funny. Either way, I do my own dd, but I'm always ready to hear new ideas from someone that knows what they are doing. There's a difference between hand-holding and an open exchange of ideas when it comes to investing. --->"There is very little reinforcement for what I do on this forum, in fact over the years there have been many more detractors than not."<--- Well, that may be the case in aggregate, but in my particular case, I have complimented you numerous times, several in this thread alone not counting the one above so.... whatever.
The internet is full of things easy to misinterpret, especially when trying to be clever with the written word. Demeaning/grouchy? If you can find me an example of this I'll examine this but suspect that I am decent to people, not their ideas/musings. Feel free to PM, I'll try to not dialogue further here on such things.
Comparing what I wrote and addressing it with some out of the park, left-field analogy regarding some crack-head kid that wanted to clean your gutters is a good start. But like you said.... or at least implied..... let it go. So we will. _______________________________________________________ Drones huh? Ahhhhhh..... you're gonna have to present a good one to get me to dig deeper. That play is crowded af. Hey did you see the video of Elon's robot dancing?!!!!! It was almost impossible to believe that was not a real person dressed up as a robot. If that sh*t is for real, and we have to assume it is..... I mean whoa(!). The science behind that is off the charts. Stock price be damned... who cares... but if (and it was) a real robot.... the next ten years going forward are going to be interesting af.
Ok, the Denver presort facility hosted people for a tour. It was very interesting to see, learn, and ponder. On the outside it closely resembled things from months ago with the exception of a bit of plastic trash on the ground near some of the loading docks, indications of activity on site. No trailers were attached to the building the night before. Near the building were a 1-3 trucks and detached trailers labeled EDS https://ebersolededicatedservices.com/. Some of these same trailers were across the street towards the commercial bakery. There were maybe 10-15 of these trailers between the two spots. EDS is a logistics and warehouse company, perhaps only working with the bakery and not PCT? In the am there were a couple tractor/trailer rigs attached to the building. I dont think they were EDS. The tour required signing that no photos or videos would be taken. The office space was fairly small compared to the rest of the building. One large open warehouse, the MachineX sorter at the far end. 40 trucks of plastics could fit in the building, with lots more unassigned space. The poster in the conference room had "10 TPH" on it, this for the MachineX sorter. The sorter looked a lot like the ones in this video: watch Denver is positioned to take in product from the NE US population centers and is the primary or maybe only source of material for Ironton. The other materials are sorted and moved out to other users in the circularity chain. I think the tour was part of an industry effort, perhaps from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR). Their twitter feed suggests the whole industry is doing tours this month, I was able to find a Waste Management tour in my state. They claimed that the facility can support 2-3 production lines when running around the clock. It sounds like they run 8 hour days, I assume 5 days a week. Someone else did the math and said that 10 tons per hour is 175M pounds per year. It looked like they could handle another sorting machine in the building. They were doing a bit of hand sorting but would not answer what was being removed there. Five people required to run things, very little handling of the product. Long day, my brain is foggy and I might add more later.
