What I currently do to deal with this headaches is to have multiples bank accounts on my names in different countries. Note I am European but I am living in Asia. You can move then from your broker the money in the account and country You want. Just give a card from that account where You intend to move the money and Your wife can easily find an atm to take the cash needed. Note You may find broker that restrict You in doing so if before You didn’t send any fund. Fair enough, just send a small amount and You will be eligible to send any fund to that account.

If You don’t have any account opened in the countrywhere You would like to have one, You will need some documents from Your embassy and your wife to deal locally with the bank. That again is your right, but may need some hiccups.

    hope it helps.

Another great solution is to use some online accounts that may work as well. I said may work as online accounts and the restrictions associated are actually dependent from Your residency. (And broker used) I tell You this base on my personal experience.

I guess that does not really apply to the problem at hand. Neither you, nor your country of origin, nor your current country of residence is subjected to sanctions or engaged in a war. Does not apply to the issue at hand imo.

i am not sure I follow here. Nationality is what play the role with sanctions and unless OP is an oligarch He doesn’t risk to get his account freezed and stolen by US or any nato member. Having said that If I was a russian national I wouldn’t want to have any fund in any nato country. We are so democratic in the west that we forgot any right related to private property. Freedom .. anyway fairly sure op is not a russian national..

That is a good bank policy. Who are you Mr. Smith? Maybe you are trying to find the existence of the account or maybe you want to find out the balance in the account when the clerk hands you back a receipt.

In any case it is irrelevant for OP's situation.

Russians apparently see it as a game.
Destroying flat of civilians because they are so frustrated that they can even not fight the soldiers. Yesterday they even ran away when heading for Kiev.

BTW: your post was not a help at all.

You don't know my situation at all. The problem I described can happen to anybody who lives in a country that get caught in a war.

Maybe you can describe my situation and show proof that you know my personal situation. Let's have a laugh.

You have already a problem with the first line of my post:Let's assume:

The country where I live is not involved in any war.
The country from which I have nationality is also not involved in any war.
