I don't disagree with the fact that masks reduce transmissions of airborne diseases. But you're OK with your kid wearing a mask in school, on the athletic field, for the rest of his/her life because of this fact? O2 tanks and PPE would reduce risk even further. Why not do that?
No not a permanent thing but do think definitely in the Fall as we come down the slope really fast with vaccines and immunity from those who caught it and just being cleaner overall. We should be back to 5 days a week in the Fall for school and restaurants and stores closer to 75-100% and sporting events hopefully 50% (fans less important haha)
I will note that most schools in North Carolina are already back to 5 days per week (if community spread is not a red zone), our stores & restaurants are at 75% indoor occupancy & 100% outdoor occupancy, and 50% occupancy for sporting events. All of this is subject to masks and social distancing. Of course this can change again as our state COVID level goes up or down -- and is subject to county restrictions if a county has a high COVID rate. Of course, the state is carefully tracking the situation and following the best proper public health guidance in establishing our direction. I expect many of the restriction improvements in the U.S. will be driven by vaccinations. The risk being the spread of COVID variants. States that do not require masks and social distancing are at high risk for further case increases -- especially since these are also the states with lower vaccination rates.
And yet there's nothing empirical in that study that shows definite proof that any student contracted COVID from another student at school.
Oh we are back to the "Prove they got it at school" nonsense. Of course this is just an extension of "Where are the dead kids" crap. Bottom line: As outlined by WHO and the CDC -- when community spread is high sending children to school merely magnifies the community spread further increasing deaths, cases and hospitalizations. Schools should only be opened when community spread is low (below a 10% positive test rate) - similarly restaurants, bars, and other comparable indoor facilities should only be open when community spread is low.
Right. Why should we have to prove anything. Don't come 'round here with those facts. Not interested, right, GWB?
You never let trifling things like facts and reality interfere with your fantasy narrative gleamed from Twitter posts of people who rantings are regularly marked as FALSE INFORMATION. We shouldn't really expect any mindset changes from you when you are confronted with actual facts -- in fact at this point doing so is a waste of effort.
