STOP PUSHING COVID DENIER NONSENSE. It is absurd that you are pushing Tweets from COVID-deniers who are attempting to claim that a CDC study says the exact opposite of what is actually in the study. This is not a para-phasing situation. The Tweeter is pushing an outright lie. It is absurd you perpetuate it. Stick with reliable mainstream sources and stop pushing conspiracy bullshiat.
I don't see any denier nonsense. I see an accurate take, paraphrased. You would, too if you weren't so blinded by your narrative. Maybe if you posted in a larger, more colorful font?
Go read the study again. The Tweet you posted is a complete fabrication. It is not in any way an accurate take of the the study. The study clearly shows that masks are effective in the classroom as outlined in the opening statement of the study which I posted. It is long overdue for you to stop posting fabricated nonsense from COVID-deniers.
Most school systems are planning to go back to full, normal schedules in the fall (as far as I can tell). Many will still have masking requirements for unvaccinated students. Of course, most school systems are putting back-up plans in place for either hybrid or remote if COVID flare-ups cause them not to be able to have 100% of students in school.
Read it again. Don't see anything that is "denier nonsense". I think its more likely you're just whining about a (losing) narrative of yours.
Previously the WHO has outlined that children are primary vectors in the spread of COVID when community prevalence is high. This is why it is recommended that schools be closed when a community is in the "red zone". While children are not likely to die of COVID they do serve to widely spread it into households causing the deaths of many adults including family members. With COVID variants -- infection is even more common in young children. Coronavirus variants seen more often in young U.S. children https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/s...mild-covid-19-children-may-be-key-2021-05-24/ Young children appear to be significant carriers of more contagious variants of the new coronavirus, such as the ones identified in the UK and in California, according to a new U.S. study. From March 2020 to April 2021, researchers at nine children's hospitals tested a total of 2,119 COVID-19 patients age 18 or younger for so-called variants of concern, along with key mutations that help the variants become more contagious or hide from the patient's immune system. "In total, we identified 560 of these important mutations, and 75% (420/560) ... were in children less than 12 years of age, the population that is currently not eligible for COVID-19 vaccines," said Jennifer Dien Bard of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, lead author of a report posted on Monday on medRxiv ahead of peer review. The results provide "clear evidence" of the emergence of variants of concern in pediatric patients across diverse geographies and socioeconomic populations in the United States, the researchers said in their paper. They added that the results highlight the need for ongoing monitoring of pediatric populations "who will be among the last groups to receive vaccination and who are key to ending this pandemic."
