Mass closing of agencies is pretty much what Project 2025 is all about. Go have a read -- it is enlightening -- and it is pretty much the Trump plan for the upcoming administration. After all -- according to the incoming Trump administration -- people don't need the services and regulations of these agencies

Imagine that, influential members of a political party publicly posting their current plans and beliefs well in advance of key players seeking office. It's called transparency. This transparency encourages dissenting opinions to be voiced, such as gwb-trading's. Constructive, reason based dissenting opinions help improve the project through the inclusion of knowledge and experience of others outside the Project, potentially benefitting all. Is this not what effective governance is about? Where political leadership and their staff attempt to address their obligations to voters based upon principles, experience, and the input of others? Compare this to what we currently hear out of most of the media and politicians. Done effectively, Project 2025 will allow a more responsive and representative Government for all. Finally. Come now, the new Trump Administration. Anyone else, including gwb-trading, want to express their grievances, with the goal of improving Project 2025 from what it is now?
By some measures, aren't we already nearing a Fascist State? File under perceptions and fears that keep us up at night, I guess. I do not believe Trump, if he did have serious "Fascist Ideals" that he plans to act on, would have as much support at the Congressional level as you may fear. My belief is based upon my recent visits to the offices Conservative politicians from both the House and the Senate. Research J.D. Vance's connections, who introduced him to his first wife, and the rest of his background. Trump selecting Vance as his potential, perceived by many competent, successor does not make thematic sense if Trump was planning to go dictator on us.
Behaving exactly as fascists are expected to do is exactly why they cannot be fascists. Brilliant deduction. Didn't get a chance to fix the exhaust leak in your truck then.
Been thinking about your friend a lot, lately. The budding systems analyst in me sees reason for future good days under a wide variety circumstances. It is very simple, really. A larger system is stable as long there is a reasonable homeostasis between the system and it's components and or other systems. Where it can get complicated when there are intersystem promises made involving tangible versus intangible things. The "Significant other" in your friend's life has plenty of what they don't really need and a shortage of they actually need. I'm thinking Quantitative tangible versus qualitative intangible. Others have inputs, but the underlying basis for all parties to benefit has been outlined. The trick is how to sell metaverse type concepts to those who are focused on linear, process oriented methodologies. Word salads aside, there is a solution where all parties can benefit, if not actually gaining over the longer term with a well thought out plan. Extra diligence in communication is another key.
Broken Homeostasis in the system anybody? I have been thinking about Ridley Scott who I slightly know the last while. In Alien, there’s a clear imbalance between the corporation and the individuals within its purview. Weyland-Yutani treats employees as disposable resources rather than valuable, irreplaceable parts of the whole. By placing profit / research goals above human life, the corporation fundamentally disregards homeostasis. There will be no respect for intangibles in the future we are moving into. Enjoy becoming sterile in a prototype cheap Tesla dome on Mars.
