Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t captured combatants, identified as such meaning Russian flag or some other marking, considered POWs?
I would think so. So you're saying they shouldn't post that because it would be a war crime? I figured either that, or the belief that Russia would do the same to Ukrainian troops, would be your reasoning as to why they shouldn't have posted it. I was just curious is all.
Propaganda is around and about on both sides so I am not the fact checker of this. But if true, not pretty. Let the viewers decide. From NPR - link corrupts when I try to paste it for some reason. Russian police jail kids who took flowers and 'No to War' signs to Ukraine's embassy They carried flowers, and handmade signs reading "нет войне" — No to War. They tried to leave their message outside Ukraine's embassy in Moscow — and for that, they were arrested. That's the story emerging in Russia about five children, ages 7 to 11, who went with their mothers to visit the embassy on Tuesday. Their excursion could have served as a reminder of shared humanity, even during a conflict. But police in Moscow didn't see it that way. They detained the kids and parents, putting them in a holding cell. WORLD U.N. set to hold vote that would demand Russia end war in Ukraine UKRAINE INVASION — EXPLAINED Putin's claim of fighting against Ukraine 'neo-Nazis' distorts history, scholars say The police officers shouted at the parents, threatening that the "brave moms" might lose their parental rights, according to Alexandra Arkhipova, who posted photos and a video of the ordeal on her Facebook page. The Moscow children's signs include images of what, for now at least, seems like an impossible equation: a Russian flag followed by a plus sign and a Ukrainian flag, equaling a heart. The case got the attention of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who shared images of the children and said it was another sign of the toll Russian President Vladimir Putin's war against Ukraine is taking on children. Referring to Putin as he discussed the kids being detained in Moscow, Kuleba said, "This is how scared the man is."
There are some fine deals available on used Russian tanks -- keep in mind that you will need to go to Ukraine to pick it up at the farmer's place.
Oil is already at $110.00 a barrel and rising. Those who see Russia getting hurt by the sanctions ignore the fact that eventually, it will hurt the US and Europe. How devastating would inflation be to US and European citizens? Ukraine supplies a lot of commodities to the US and Europe. This war will at a minimum, cut the supplies of commodities and spike prices higher. That will adverse the US and Europe in a huge way. Think depression in the US and Europe. Yes, you will destroy the Russian economy but, it will severely damage the US and European commodities as well. China is the winner, it continues to rake in hundreds of billions of dollars from the US and Europe as it builds and expands its military. If China invades Taiwan, US will be hard pressed to contain China. China and Russia also, signed an agreement for Russia to supply China with oil.
You guys can laugh, but I would like to have that puppy. The next time the lefties have street riots in my area I would like to roll into town and give em a little thrill. Maybe rap off a few shots. Now you see the Independent Republic of Chaz ion Capitol Hill in Seattle. Boom! Now you don't. You are welcome. Yeh. That's what I be talking about right there! And of course, the 2nd Amendment guarantees my right to have that. Just threw that in to maximize the number of lefties that I piss off. C'mon El Concho. You would be a chick magnet in that thing.
It is a war crime under the Geneva Convention - which both Ukraine and Russia have signed- to execute or even punish any pow just for having been a combatant. But I think that tweet is fake information. Everything I see Ukraine circulating about pow's seems to be in the opposite direction. With the usual caveat, that I know nothing as Sergeant Shultz would say. Ukraine will release Russian POWs to their mothers if they come get them personally https://www.timesofisrael.com/ukrai...llect-their-sons-captured-on-the-battlefield/
