Russia & Ukraine

  1. Well, Putin is not going to want that. Face to face anyway. Putin will try to rotate Lavrov in to do the face but Putin will agree to consult with Lavrov along the way. Or some such thing.

That should be unacceptable to Trump, except love complicates things.
We can agree that if Vlad was willing to meet face to face and Z did not want to, it would take Trump a microsecond to trash Zelensky the way he did to him in the Oval Office. But you are not going to see him trash Putin to his face like that. Such is love.

    Laissez les bon temps rouler.

There are reports that Trump and Putin has already come to an understanding. Some of the supposed agreed to items: 1) Sanctions on Russia will be removed, 2) Resumption of oil and natural gas shipments by Russia to Europe, 3) Release of frozen Russian assets, 4) Ukraine continuing to be supplied with weapons by the US, 5) Resumption of trade by Russia with the European Union and the US. No mention of Ukraine neutrality and NATO non-membership. Also, the occupied territories taken by Russia. I assume the Russians will keep their annexed Ukraine territories and Ukraine will be barred from joining NATO. That might be among the remaining issues to be ironed out when President Donald Trump meets with Vladimir Putin. President Donald Trump will probably, talk to Zelensky before he heads to Moscow.

  3. Yes. Putin has made his wish list known to Trump and Trump has said "we will do that" minus a thing or two to make it look like there was some kind of back and forth.

Those "reports" would be the same wishlist made known for years.

I hope it is not true because you or "the reports" are suggesting that Zelensky is being invited into a process where Trump and Putin have already "come to an understanding." That would be slimy. The Europeans will see it as such too, because it would be.
