Russia & Ukraine

  1. True, but it is also true that the himars did some damage and if more of them can get through it is not out of the question that they can do more damage. Taking out the air defenses would also allow that.

Anyway, the bigger picture is that they are taking the fight to the bridges in some form finally. Air strikes are fine in theory and larger missiles as well but the months are going by and I am satisfied for the day to see some movement. More is better. It has only been about ten days since we got past this foolishness about not being able to use the longer range missiles with the himars. Lord knows how long it would take for the powers that be to agree to use even larger missiles. Let em hammer them a few times more with himars before concluding that they are too puny.

Video showing amazing precision of HIMARS. Literally a few feet spread.

This shows perfectly the problem with bridges like the Crimea one, the bombs and shells go through the deck. To do enough damage you have to take out heavy concrete columns and that requires underwater demolition charges.

Another video - shows how precise HIMARS are. And how little real damage 200lb of explosives does to a bridge.

Classic Russian writer Saltykov-Schedrin, famously said "If you wake me up in 100 years and ask me what is happening in Russia, I will correctly tell you: stealing and drunkenness"

The spread of HIMARS shots - less than 20 meters (about 60 feet).

HIMARS manufacturers are jumping for joy. A better advertisement for the system's precision is hard to imagine.

The USA has no vital interests in Ukraine... none.

The whole thing is just another scheme to enrich cronies of the regime. People cannot buy decent groceries and we are sending untold billions to a war with no exit strategy and literally no strategy whatsoever on any level.

I think we are at peak stupid now. I spend a great deal of time studying Visas, emigration policies and ex-pat tax strategies because I've had about enough of it. As much as I love Florida its clear that this whole country has gone mad and its nearly time to bolt.

    Yes, Neville.

US and EU's vital interest is to prevent and destroy a militant, expansionist and faschist Hitler 2.0 regime in Europe.

I am sorry if you don't see that.
