Schumer Surrender - the M& M Massacre

  1. True. There will not be widespread deportations, and indeed trump should not even attempt that as the optics and reality of it would be brutal. Trump should just stop trying to fix it if no bill passes and let the consequences of it fall where they fall.

Even if there will not be widespread deportations, there WILL be widespread problems if there is no legal relief. You know people can play around with the idea of Trump extending or not extending but the unspoken truth is that he lacks the authority to extend it, or to adopt it in the first place. So when the courts rule on that he can just shrug and say that there is nothing he can do, you have to change the law if you want to fix it.

Keep in mind that most of the daca "kids" are working age now, or many anyway. Some may be grandparents. With daca registration, they get work permits to work in this country. DACA ends, they have no papers and all the problems that go with that. So trump/the dems can just let them hang in limbo. As I said, there will be widespread problems.

And despite what is said here by some, the daca immigrants still want more than just protection for themselves- they want the bill to include protection for their parents who are living in the household with them. Without daca, there is no protection for them, and their will not be widespread deportation but there will not be widespread looking the other way either which has gone on for a long time. And a lot of immigrants are here based on just looking the other way. Trump does not need to do widespread deportations. Just follow the law.

This sanctuary city thing puts a lot of families at risk too because the states/cities will not turn over or notify of the release of a detainee so ICE has to go to their homes more now and they usually can find a couple other illegals there too. Many who are parents of daca kids. who have no legal protection now.

Its surprising how far you can reach back, the minute you just stop looking the other way.

It’s not about letting DACA tank for political purposes. If Trump won’t make the deal then there’s no deal and move on to the midterms.

If democrats agree to fully fund and appropriate money for the wall; and, end chain migration, there will be a DACA deal. If not, then the democrats want the issue for political purposes for the midterms.

  5. You don't know what the deal is. There is no bill that has been drafted yet. Most likely there will be lots of issues and points covered in the final bill with lots of agreements/disagreements. Once again you go binary, ie. either Trump wont make the deal or there is no deal. How bout the parts where the dems may need to make the deal or not?

Does that bill include amnesty. Does it grant a pathway to citizenship? Is that a two year or a six year path? Do misdemeanors involving violence make a person ineligible. Are the parents of daca kids granted legal status too? Are the daca kids and their illegal parents eligible for Obamacare? Are refugee kids who arrived from places like Haiti and El Salvador here on temporary legal status included with DACA kids or they go back? Is chain migration beyond parents allowed? Does it provide for new immigrants from shithole countries?

Nevermind. There is "the deal" and Trump will either "make the deal or not." Nothing there for the other side to agree or disagree with to make a deal.

Oy. It's like negotiating with Chuck Schumer.

I see your ability to keep context is as weak as the editorial standards of the tabloid news you get your hack information from.

It’s like having a conversation with finding Dory.

  7. Trump will not get one extra vote for signing DACA. He will lose plenty however, unless he gets virtually everything in his immigration package. Dems have apparently made a decision that blocking the wall and keeping chain migration, diversity lottery, etc are more important to their ballot stuffing agenda than Dreamers. They will instead try to use Dreamers as human shields to attack Trump.

Trump's response must be to start high volume deportations of Dreamers, particularly the loudmouth activists.

This is a war and our side better start acting like it.

  8. Scrap the wall and hire more border patrol, lots more? Why? because that's what works and the left knows it. Watched the infamous Luis Gutierrez being interviewed the other day and he has little problem exchanging a wall for DACA, but has no interest in putting more agents on the border. Why is that? How much is this wall going to cost? Around 20 billion. Will it actually do much of anything to stop the illegals? Not unless they build one 200 feet high and sink it 200 feet down below the surface. Nope, a wall is just a dog and pony show. How many agents can be hired for 20 billion? Lets say it's an annual cost of an 100K per agent. That's 10 agents per million bucks. 100 agents for 10 million. 1000 agents for 100 million. 10,000 agents for a billion. Put 10,000 additional people protecting the border for the next 20 years and there's your 20 billion, and that will do a fuck of a lot more to seal the border than a wall will ever do. That, mi amigos, is why Luis and the rest of the left hates the idea of hiring more agents.

I think you guys get way too hyperbolic with this stuff but I have to say you are right about one thing. Most drugs are coming through underground tunnels. The wall is more symbolic and a waste of money. We can get terrestrial security and surveillance more effectively and cheaper than a wall.

  10. Luis also knows that illegals are rapidly shifting to more visa overstays as an alternative to border crossings. He would like to see the border security budget all tied up in the wall, then the illegals that he wants to bring in will just continue to come in through visa overstays.
