actually they do not have to do anything. if they want to 'drive' the market down, they need not short …..they only stop buying......not doing something is not manipulating
Why would it be illegal? If you are buying a stock, isn't it in your interest to offer lower prices? Nobody is being forced to sell at that price. Anyone can sell at the price if they want to sell their stock. If not, then, don't.
Took effect this past Monday 3/16/20. And as my chart shows the prior Friday's close was around 240.00 and yesterday's was 213.67
this is what makes being leveredged 100% short difficult. We have had several 100-200 ES pops and it's hard to know if market will take the bait on any of the stimulus packages or stuff like short selling ban.
