This is true. I am an owner/operator in a low per-employee profit margin business (service sector). The government currently subsidizes much of our workforce. The wages we pay are in line with industry standards. If you are a high school or college student, it's pretty amazing money. If you're a single mom supporting 3 kids, you're going to need a lot of government support to survive. Unfortunately as most of our higher paying manufacturing jobs have left, they have been replaced by jobs that pay fairly low wages.
This is great news for the vast majority of daytraders as the minimum wage of 10.10 ph is probably more than what they make, if they make any money at all.
