What are you babbling about? it's good to see you can use a dictionary website. Unfortunately none of this addresses the point made in my post.

Very few cities on the planet with 6-7 million people in the immediate area have crime rates as low as Toronto. In fact, the murder rates in most rural areas of Canada are higher then they are in Toronto. So if the question is how are stricter gun control laws working out, the answer is quite well, perhaps the US should consider similar laws. That being said, it has been reported that under Harper's government that gun control laws were somewhat watered down in Canada; there will be some study into whether this was a factor in this incident.

Highlighting these stories merely helps illustrate how infrequently such incidents occur here. It's also in bad taste for you to take a story where two people died at the hands of a mentally disturbed individual to further your political agenda. I fail to see any Canadians demanding you lose your guns; some may however note your abnormally high crime rates ( considering the wealth of your country ) and hope you develop some common sense on the topic.

Infrequently? Let's quote your mayor about Toronto's gun problem.

'Toronto’s mayor, John Tory, called the rampage a “cowardly act of violence” and “an attack on our city itself.”

“I’ve said for some time that the city has a gun problem,” Mr. Tory told the City Council on Monday. “Guns are far too readily available to far too many people.”'

I spent October to February working in Toronto -- every news day was an endless rash of gun crimes. Let's also take a look at some numbers -

'Newspapers and radio shows have throbbed with concern that the city is entering another “Summer of the Gun,” as 2005 was deemed by Torontonians. That year, 52 people were killed and 359 were shot and wounded.

So far this year, the city has had 308 victims and 29 fatalities from shootings, according to data from the Toronto Police Service.'

You guys study gun violence in Canada, that’s smart. We have a law banning the study of gun violence in America.

    Thanks again, NRA.

Does anyone really need to do a psychological profile or dig deep into gun stats to see why Ali Shaheed Mohamed shot up a crowd?

  6. Wrong again. We have a law that bans leftwing zealots at the CDC from conflating gun violence, which is largely a ghetto thing, into some sort of bogus medical issue. It's bad enough that asshole liberal pediatricians think it is their right to cross examine vulnerable young parents about guns in their house.

Yeah because getting shot isn’t a medical issue and mental illness never leads to gun violence.

Also, why does it matter if gun violence happens in “ghettos” or elsewhere?

  8. Because it's a thug issue, not a medical issue.

In the real world when someone is shot they go to a hospital and get medical treatment from doctors and nurses. It’s rare they go see the local “thug” to get the bullet out and repair the damage.

What about mental illness and mass shootings? Is that a medical issue that should be studied? It seems like every time we have one of these the right days it was mental illness. Just saying.
