Everyone says that Shep can just go over to CNN or MSNBC at some point, and that is true at some level, but what level? He already has his own show and his rating are okay for his time slot but nothing great, probably not as bad as Trump says, but he is not any kind of superstar catch to help a network increase their rating. All those lefty networks already have lots and lots and lots of lefties on them already. I mean they pack them in like sardines on every program. So what does he add to that? The other thing is that his skills are really around covering school shootings and hurricanes. Not legal analysis, policy analysis or interviewing others, except for maybe little cameo interviews for someone who found their lost dog after three years or something. He came out of the period in history where reporters started with car chases in California and were able to get into places like Fox early on and go up the ladder. Even if you wish the guy well, I dont really know what he brings to the party. Being gay and lefty and foaming at the mouth are bases that are pretty well covered already in the networks where he would want to go. He had a good run and some serious estrogen swings at the end so moved on. Fine. Right now he is a little bit of a problem for the lefties because some of the witch-hunters want to call Barr and Murdoch to show that Trump is interfering in the media. Except Shep - and his attorney- have stated emphatically in several ways that he left voluntarily with no influence whatsoever. But witch-hunters gotta witch hunt I guess.
He is not needed for legal or policy analysis since there are numerous asshats willing to step forward and provide their analysis and useless opinion. Like Dan Bongino...he was a secret service agent..then decided to run for congress and lost 3 times.. and now he is on daily on FOX giving his political insight....based on what? FOX and CNN just need someone to read and deliver the news without commentary. Almost like OAN during the day except they are using mentally challenged college kids to read the news...painful to listen to.
If you are replying to me and talking about Shep, then that was my point. Not needed for that on Fox and definitely not over on one of the lefty networks where people are suggesting/speculating that he could go. As I said, every program they have, has crowded, crowded panels of bloviators. So my question was, what would he do over there? Fox let him do hurricanes, school shootings, cat videos and bitching about Trump. Which of those skills are in high demand? He had a pretty good gig going and as one of the token lefties it gave him a niche. That niche is pretty much filled twenty times over on all the other networks.
Was a comment in general in reference to the fact that because he has no skills in political or policy analysis that he has no skills in demand. But then again FOX uses a secret service agent as a policy/political expert so what does one's credentials really matter whether it is at CNN or FOX.
I hear that but I was addressing more the speculation about his having another show on one of the lefty networks at a level or above or better in his mind than the one he had. The Bongino appearances are not really analogous to that. He doesnt have a show and just appears here and there. It runs in cycles. Sometimes with Judge Jeanine for a while, and sometimes with Hannity. But he just participates in segments. So that sort of makes my point rather than counters it. He shows up for some things where they find him useful but, to your point, he does not really have enough skills or appeal for a full show. Again, Shep had a full show not just appearances for segments and I have a hard time seeing how he would duplicate it over on a lefty network. I mean he could do it, but what does it get the network that they dont have already. They already have plenty of lefties and gays who are smarter and better rounded than he is. I dunno. He was reportedly making 15 million a year at fox so I assume he comes with a price tag that's up there even if not the 15. Anyway, we went through this type of discussion about Megyn Kelly which I participated in but once she left I never really thought of her again. Same with Shep. As I said, he had a good run and he left. That's fine.
I think CNN will still take Shep on because they love the idea to grab FOX cast outs... He may have nothing to add but he will be snapped up within 3 months is my prediction. Not at $15 million though. Maybe OAN can take him and get a professional reading the news versus those stuttering fucks. As for Megyn Kelly, that was stupid all around. She is fired from her news show and asked to host the 5th talk show in a row in the morning NBC run....doomed to fail.
https://thehill.com/homenews/media/...news-to-complain-about-coverage-of-him-report Trump called head of Fox News to complain about coverage: report President Trump complained about coverage of himself to Fox News Chief Executive Suzanne Scott in a phone call late this summer, The New York Times reported Sunday. Three people with knowledge of the call told the Times that Trump said on the call that Fox News was not covering him fairly. Scott reportedly urged Trump to sit for an interview with Bret Baier, the channel’s chief political anchor. Trump has ramped up his criticism of the network in the last few months, including criticizing anchor Shepard Smith, who resigned from Fox News this week. The president has taken issue with the network's pollsters, saying they "suck" after a poll found majority support for impeachment. Trump has also complained about several of the network's polls that showed him trailing his Democratic challengers in potential 2020 match-ups and regularly lashes out at employees who are critical of him. He tweeted in August that the cable network "isn't working for us anymore" and that his supporters "have to start looking for a new News Outlet."
Yeh, well, like, so what? Obama used to call the lefty network pundits to get advice on various policy proposals. I guess you can let them know that you value their input and coverage or that you do not. Whatevah.
