  2. You may want to better educate yourself. you do NOT understand the few categories you mentioned.

If you go to a reference, you will find 32 basic categories. Harris is a good example; see page 199 figure 8.1.

In this heirarchy, I trade as two boxes listed. Start at the top (all traders)
go down one level to "principals". go down another level to "speculators."

At this point there is a Y in the path. I am in both wings.

in the left wing ("informed traders" I fit into "technical-information traders" In the right wing, I fit into " sentiment oriented technical traders".

What you are reading about me in this thread as written by others is mmore mythical bystander type BS.

I have traded for 57 years at this point. Naturally, I am on a first name basis with many professional people in the financial industry.

My orientation is to extract capital and give it away to problem solvers.

If you live in a nation that is governed by the people, then you probably are affected by my problem solving in several ways daily.

In the US, we have two agencies I participate in forming when I worked at EOP as a consultant (highest rate portal to portal of any consultant at that time);: the EPA and DOE. I also helped break up the old eduction and health complex. I also worked for the DOD as an antiterrorist strategist (also for Isreal counterpart)

PL-92-500 affects US people daily. So does the EIS of NEPA. also I removed lead from gasoline in the US. I am the inventor of countinuous fermentation. whci ulitmately will replace oil and coal as a resourse.

i take the full offer of the market through extraction by the use of signals from the independent variable which leads PRICE the dependent variable.

You may have heard of Jake Berenstein who is an interday trader. He uses three items for a trade: set up, trigger and followthrough.

I am an intraday trader and I always have a set up and always a trigger has occurred. I have created that the "folowthrough" appearance is the somultaneous profit taking AND the concurrent set up and trigger.

please do not persume to understand anything I write. That is an impossibility for reasons of neuro biological processes for you. and most other posters in this thread.

At some point in brain development most people become irreversably damaged. You, among other posters in this thread, have passed that milestone.

  4. Jack ,first i don't know you and i believe the first thing you should learn is politeness (i think i'm self educated enough about the fields i mentioned (in trading never it's enough).i am aware of these 4 categories and i mentioned them .( i did not speak about other categories which i don't know)
well,i dont live in a nation governed by "people" , i live in a nation governed by wolfs.but also i really really prefer it over those "wild animals" who looks like humans & kill other people in rest of world and think they are superior .No,you and the nation you mentioned are nothing ,you are just too experienced ! trader (in terms of age) so please be careful about neuro biological process in your brain .
these stupid replies shows how racist some people are despite their flashy names !

Ufff, difficult question. I prefer both in just one trading system :D

There are no pros/cons - it is like ask what are pros/cons of hammer vs. screwdriver. They are just different tools suitable for different tasks :)

You ought to be very careful as swings can be predicted in advance (ex. overbought/oversold, s&r, etc.) but trends only exist in hindsight. So you are comparing dissimilar things. IMO the only reason that trend following exists is because large size funds cannot swing effectively due to liquidity issues. Had they a choice, they would be swinging intraday,

  10. of course i comparing two dissimilar things ,i think swing trading has more opportunity factor than trend following and also has less mental stress due to the fact that you don't need to trail stops.
intraday trend following is possible as well intraday swing trading.
