AMD is totally dependent on TSMC. In supply chain strategy, single source is the weakest link.

Btw, I can also tell an anecdote from that old times:
A US general stationed in the US came over to Europe on an inspection tour to visit also our unit. I had the duty to show him our locations and installations. He inspected everything very carefully, and saw that on a portrait of the then president Reagan his name was written as "Roland" instead of "Ronald"... Oh, man, what a shaet! Of course it was not my fault but the fault of the maker of that portrait...
