I like nat. gas plants just fine, but I'll call bullshit wherever I see it, just like I did yours as you kept worming your way out into different arguments. And yes, I'm calling BS again on your claim that wind turbines are "unsuitable" for Texas.

  2. Again, you put words in my mouth and then turn around and call bs on it. You call bs on your own misinterpretation. I said the currently chosen turbines are unsuitable. And so are the currently chosen natural gas powered plants. You are not reading carefully and then go all snowflake on your own misunderstanding. Over and out.

You're a fucking idiot. Their renewables are outperforming their conventional plants. The infrastructure was not built for persistent cold temps and ice.

And you fools comparing it to the rolling blackout in Cali should end it. Just as there is a difference between hot and cold.

  8. It's nothing to do with politics and left vs right, as you of course try to suggest (I can name you countless examples of left leaning governmental mismanagement) , this is one of the many signs of the demise of The United States of America. The elites have built vast wealth and fences around their homes and have their own power generators and plenty safety mechanism and helicopter pads to escape. While the rest of the country drives on broken bridges, drinks poisoned water, faces electricity outages and suffers from ridiculously low minimum wages. This is because the majority of people are uneducated and believes the lies of trickle down economics. The democrats are as clueless as any republican how to fix it. They think they can print some money and issue some treasury debt and then spend their way out of their misery without paying a price. That is why I keep on saying education is the most treasured good any society should have. You can't do much with a country that is inhabited by 80% idiots and undereducated people who believe the pursuit of money is the most respectable goal in life and that it excuses moral hazard and immoral behavior. A selfish society will choke itself to death.

George Carlin put it just right: "garbage in, garbage out". Society is as good as its elected leaders. And the elected leaders are as good as it's citizenry. Good night America.

Actually your assertion is just completely and utterly wrong, as was pointed out numerous times in this thread. Most of the issues in Texas came from the fossil fuel generating system which has not proven to be, as you claim, "robust" when it comes to cold, at least in Texas. This isn't me saying this, its a direct quote from the director of ERCOT and backed up by direct data. The question is, why are you refusing to read/listen/absorb the actual data and insisting on this myth about the issues being caused by renewable power that was a partisan hack attack coming from the governor of Texas in a Fox interview? Really, I'm genuinely curious how you could have made an honest attempt to understand the issues here and come away with something so far away from reality?
