Republicans have been using race, even obsessed about race, in the form of dog whistles, for a long time to get the degenerates to vote for them, ie: Hell even Dubya used race against McCain back when he (Bush) alluded to McCain fathering a black baby in the South Carolina contest. Socialism is like a drug. 1. Lots of people are sucked in by the "free stuff" promise of socialism... and the "it's not fair Joe's got more than you", whine. 2. Scumbag politicos find offering free stuff for votes an easy platform to espouse in their effort to seek power and control. Both are frailties of the human spirit. Perhaps if we identified Socialism by its synonymous cousin's name (Communism) people might not be so quick to embrace it. ??

Too bad few get that there is no such thing as "Socialist". There are Socialisms. As in PLURAL. The United States is already on a Socialisms Spectrum. The real problem is that the educational system fails us in this country. We don't understand what it means.
