Hello Businessman, You are very smart. I like that!!! Thank you!! You are ES Futures Master Trader as well I see. Very nice to see another ES Futures Master on the website. Yes, you are absolutely correct about this. You are correct. I did not hold my winners long enough to capture big swing profits on some trades, I regret that, still made money but I could have made TONS more. So holding my winners longer during the good market times is something I have to improve with regardless if broker change margin rates.
Hello DarkerthanDarc, Well, there is only so much you can learn technical wise in trading, IMO. Sooner or later, you have to put money in the account and get busy clicking. You can not learn everything and then try to SIM trade everything to see if it works. Years and Years will go by too fast. It is best to stare, guess and click. I am not too sure about scalping part 100% of time. I know scalping sounds like a cute and fancy way to make quick money, but I assure you a big loss is coming to take the small profits away. 100ES contracts, yes scalp away. 1ES contract, hmmm, that is only good for McDonalds money and playing around. Your urgency to make money at the right time will decide scalp or swing. I am not 100% sold on the whole scalping stuff. I can say I missed a lot of good money scalping at times.
Hello LionsWarthogsMillions, Very nice comments. I agree. One thing I notice amongst traders is the fantasy of being a big time ES Scalper Master. I was once obessed with this as well. I do not believe in scalping 100% of the time.
A big time ES Scalper Master....that sounds funny and odd. You can't really be a Big Time Scalper. To be big time....you have to be a Big Game Hunter. And hunt for the Big Prize. That's like saying I'm a Big Time Mouse Hunter Scalper. To be big time you have to soar like an eagle high above to see and sense the greater, wider, picture. How many hours per Night does @SimpleMeLike "stare at the Chart"? How many Years will that take to get an understanding/feel for the Markets movements? Larry Williams has said that Traders who develop a feel for the Market only, don't last.
Stare at the chart ,,...yea, a magic genie will eventually come out and grant you awesome foresight. Just keep Staring. Don't stop. Staring. Stare at the chart. Developing a feel for the market is such bullshit. Same way sports gamblers all arrogantly think they know the outcome. That's the definition of insanity. Alot of aspirational traders are insane. Dissect all the variables and elements in that time frame, picture frame, box. Keep Questioning, Keep Refining. One day, maybe, you'll get there...and discover plutonium. But use your imagination, and don't quit....because fortune is out there Hell, I could teach you right now and make you rich. But I won't. Not because I'm mean...but because I want you to experience glory, at your certain time moment
Day trading the indices manually is hard. If you are going to day trade manually probably better off trading individual liquid stocks that are in play Or only trade the indices right after a news events like CPI, NFP etc. When there is a chance of catching a big move. Trying to manually grind a profit intra day in the ES every single day sounds like living in a nightmare.
