I agree in part, but I still say it's too early. We're a good two, probably three election cycles away and then there's always the totally unexpected, currently unknown events which may happen and that changes the political climate. They're organizing for sure, but I think 2018 and 2020 is still all republican dominated...unless we see the unknown becomes a known. Then all bets are off.
Not sure if you are replying to me. I have several people on ignore so lose the flow a bit sometimes. In any case. I am certainly not saying that the socialists are going to be winning any national election any time soon. But their capacity to mess up the democratic party arrived during the last election and has grown fast since then. It is only getting worse. The 2018 election is a mixed bag because you can get away with things in a solidly lefty district that you cannot get away with on the national level. They get leftier in districts where they only real challenge is at the primary level.
It's a generational thing. The newest voting generation is fine with the socialist label and think it is a good thing. At least among the progressives. They feel no shame, doubt, or reflection about other other socialist experiments whatsover. Of course they have no knowledge to go with it but that is because they are waiting for a downloadable app. Most of them cannot articulate the difference between WW1 and WW2 but - if forced to make a guess- they probably know that WW1 came first. Gets hazy and sketchy for them after that.
I don’t think 2018 will be Republican dominated, at all but we were talking about internal democrats politics, or at least I was. There’s also something to be said about the middle or the silent majority. It’s difficult to put into words but it seems like the middle or silent majority are pretty much going along to get along. What I mean by that is they don’t move from their respective parties regardless of extreme positioning by candidates. To me, it’s starting to seem like even less voter engagement and more of internal struggles of about 20% within each party. There’s too many auto pilot voters.
While in the real world since Trump was elected by The Electoral College progressives have been lining up to vote for moderate democrats like Doug Jones,Ralph Northem and Coner Lamb. Since Trump was elected by The Electoral College democrats have flipped over 40 seats from red to blue while republicans have flipped around 4 seats from blue to red. That wouldn't be happening if there were a civil war in the party. There was a civil war in 2016 but trump fixed that for us.
I don’t know. There was a big dust up when Bernie refused to endorse Northem. I’m skeptical of the far left myself but they get amplified by the media and the republicans (looking for a group to villianize). And while their numbers aren’t as strong as rank and file democrats, I think this gets fought on the margins because voters have become more and complacent. What I’m saying is what happened on the right can happen on the left.
Northem went on to win by bigger margins than Hillary ,Obama x 2, and McAuliffe Doug Jones had massive turnout and hes pro life. There are a few loud mouth bernie bros but progressives / far left have been overwhelmingly supporting the democrat nominees since trump was elected.
So, her solution is gut the military and tax the rich? Rich liberals like Warren Buffett keeps whining about not paying more taxes yet, continues to hide behind his tax loopholes? Why doesn't he just cut a check to the Bureau of the Treasury for say $10 billion to salve his conscience? Does she really believe Buffett will pay more taxes? Hell, the IRS no less assessed $100 million in taxes they say he owes yet, he is still fighting it in Tax Court! Liberal politicians who take huge campaign cash in exchange for more and more tax loopholes for rich liberals are not going away! You think they are going to give up their tens of millions of campaign cash? It is easy to talk about paying more taxes. It is called "lip service" which liberals are good at. Remember the Trump tax cuts, rich liberals are whining over paying more taxes under it yet, with their lies say it benefits only the rich?
Yep, there's no reason all these libtards (yes, Warren, you're one of them) need to hang on to their money. If they think the government does best, then hand it over, just as you said. If they think a charity, then write the damn check. You don't even need to take the damn deduction. So sick of the ivory-tower types telling me I need to pay more taxes, but REALLY sick of stupid people who have no understanding of anything telling me what to do. As stated before, if this chick wasn't cute/pretty, if she looked like some hag with wild hair and warts, no one would have voted for her. Seriously. There's only a fraction of the population that actually likes long, flowing hair on women's legs. And on that note, FALN lives. She's probably so stupid she wouldn't understand this article. https://spectator.org/ocasio-cortez-channels-faln-on-puerto-rico/
