Ugh, I had totally disproved this in the past when someone made the same statement, but I went back and looked and can't find the series of posts. So lets do it again, if we must. Please post the source data you are using when you are comparing NYC to JaX, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. We have to look at what is being considered "metropolitan area". Because that's where the rub is.
And transports 2,500 frickin people a day. "A" train in one trip carries at least that many. Bawahaha
yeah, and all the planes in the world transport 2M people per day...bawahahaha... What was the point in transport capacity comparisons again?
And that's absolutely true. Are you saying that the number of passengers changes whether a mode of transportation is and should be safe?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_intentional_homicide_rate 11/13 states with the highest murder rates are southern states. MD and IL are the exception. Baltimore, Chicago, and East St. Louis areas are certainly the main reason. I looked at the total murder number in the city and the population of the city. NYC (the city only) had 485 murders in 2021. The estimated population is about 8.8 million. That's 5.5/100k which is a clear uptick. We have seen upticks across the country though as the murder rate in the country was 6.9/100k. For NYC, shootings have dropped in 2022, but overall crime is up. We'll see what the totals are at the end of the year. Murder rates tend to be higher in the summer months.
Thick much? You were ..... comparing one against the other. But when a comparison is made where you ummm come up short you say who's was comparing. Fool.
