NATO/Finland is about to be 120 miles from St Petersberg. Why aren't The Russians throwing a fit about that if NATO expansion on their borders is such a big deal?
Finland wasn't a NATO member yet. Also from what I read, there won't be NATO troops (other than Finns) and no nuclear weapon deployed. Sprengtpoten's story is an interesting read, thus the complicated relationship with Russia. Stalin used to say if not for Sprengtpoten, the Russian would take back Helsinki at no time.
I suppose it does make it one-sided but Russian can only handle one war at a time. It wll be bad regardless.
An interesting article on large investor who says he cannot get his money out of China now. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/06/business/mark-mobius-china-capital-controls/index.html
There is a theory Mundell impossible triangle, China's choice is to control the free flow of money. In addition, there is a high probability that this investor's money did not enter the market completely through officially certified channels. I guess the amount is in hundreds of millions or billions. We may need to obtain more information. But no matter what, the money still belonged to him, and he would definitely be able to withdraw it in batches. It will not disappear directly like in some countries.
I can only use three words to describe this battle until now: shocking, heartbroken, and regretful. Both sides made huge mistakes, and the hundreds of thousands of people who died in battle directly paid the bill.
