Time spent learning the craft of trading.

Trading being 90% time-wise something other than the pure logic of entries and management makes sense IMO. The "trader's personality" and "trader's mindset" to me are like a 'hat' I put on when I sit down to trade. I don't think we are born with it. It is something that can be cultivated... taught/learned... but it is a personal journey. And what we need may shift as our life circumstances shift.
My trading consistency comes and goes with physical issues I have. Psychological issues go hand in hand with this (at least in my experience). Being conscious, and working on self understanding etc. makes all the difference.
I guess some traders figure out the psych part and just own it. For some of us there may be more to it than that.
...Handle says that he goes in for hypnosis quarterly. If he doesn't then his trading suffers. We each have to find our own way.

 

That is a beautiful metaphor about the 'hat'. You put on a 'hat' with habits and insights that successful traders use.

 

Interesting, but can you back up your claims about being a successful trader?

 

I trade for almost three decades now. You can also search on ET and look at previous threads or comments.

 

I guess that means no.

Trading for three decades proves nothing, look at Padutrader for example.

 

If you would take the effort to search you will see I have answered that question more than once and proofed it more than once I can trade and make money doing so. Besides that I see you are from Antwerp? Right? You can sit next to me and see it for all I care.

 

All i can find is you saying you are profitable but are not willing to show any statements to back it up. At least in the posts i quickly checked. If you did actually posted proof in the past, why are you unwilling to do it again?

Now that is no criticism, i am not saying you would be a bad mentor or anthing like that at all. It is just that i wouldn't want to have a mentor that isn't profitable or is unwilling to back up the claims he is making.

That is why I call it mentoring and not coaching. I do what I say and teach others.
I have never posted a statement or will do that. The next thing you get when you do that is that someone is going to say it is fake. So that proves also nothing. I do trade for others to see when I mentor them. Live. I think that is the best proof there is. Besides that, people are smart enough to know if I'm the real deal or not once they work with me.

It took me years to learn trading and become profitable. I think everyone would have taken some years to be there.
