Did the NQ after the open. Spent most of the day thinking the market would retrace then go up. This resulted in 4 losers and 1 (short) winner at the end, to sort of save the day. Made me only down 12.0 instead of down 19.0. Will post a chart(s) later if I get the time. Gotta go study up on how "the trend is your friend".
Did better today. Didn't overtrade and was patient. Almost made up for yesterday. Wanted to hold for better winners, but the action didn't seem to allow for it. Left a little on the table on the first trade though. Here are the charts
What is a "computerized scalped stock"? And how do you know this? And do you know of any other computerized scalped stocks? Oh, and where o' where is TonySanDiego? MIA?
Had the flu last Friday.. bad flu,.. thought I had anthrax. Didn't do much then or Monday. Didn't do much today either except for opening orders (see Don's opening orders thread for details of my a**kicking). Maybe tomorrow I do something significant.
More mismanagement by management. Held NVLS for quite a while, (an eternity for me), but finally jumped ship. Later NVLS made a real nice run. It never reached my stop, so...... a pox on me for being impatient. Did OK with the SPYs, not so good in the QQQs. Should have gotten more out of the 2nd short of KLAC. Was a hair too late with my exit. Then got out kind of high.. sigh. BUT.... I feel like I am actually controlling myself better. But there are miles to go before I get "there". Here are the trades.
Well.. Another kind of so so day. I had to cut it off early in order to go to the VA hospital and have my back surgery checked. Back is doing well, thank you for asking. I managed decent patence in my second KLAC short. Finally got something out of it. Should have re-entered around 12:30 est. ( really should have held.. and held.. and held ) Opening orders were +.30 and +.30. Here are the non-opening order trades. (see Don's journal)
Another day, another dollar, more or less. Did ok today. Got a smidgon of green. Wished I had left that last short of QLGC alone.... here are the trades.
Tony You need to get past fretting about leaving money on the table. I think a short term trader needs to forget about the big moves. Our job, as LBR says is to "take small pieces out of the market". All you need to do is get a couple of small pieces a day consistently to make all the money you want. Strive for consistent small profits. This is my take on things after wrestling with this particular demon for quite some time.
