Oh, no I am not atheistic, I do not even dislike "religious" people, I just cannot stand the "institution", with the RW political and brainwashing tendencies that by the way seemed to have worked beautifully on you....
Comically the differences between Jesus freaks and the people who fell in love with Obama are actually very small. One group woriships a made up perfect being. The other group woriships a real human being, past and present, who is made up to be perfect. Republicans fall in line with their candidate, Democrats fall in love with their candidate. Both groups are attracted to the hope that each fantasy delivers. Both groups follow the laws and beliefs of each belief system religiously. Both groups become enraged when an outside party insults the legitimacy of the group. Both groups have idealistic thoughts for the future. Both groups are never skeptical about their own beliefs. Both groups are completely cynical when it comes to belief systems that contradict with their own. The bottom line is that it is as crazy to believe in a perfect human being as it is to believe in a god. Source- Grew up with a Jesus freak family. Have witnessed liberal friends turn into cult like fanatics for Clinton and Obama.
Seems to me that the typical Obama voter is easily misled and influenced by crafty speech and charisma. Sort of like members of cults.
