You're probably reading the chart from right to left. Read it from left to right.

Ya gotta have the paperback book chapter 7 instructions...
and diagrams.. etc

Then you'll get to the point when you can "see" the lines without even drawing them..

Sorry, I thought you'd read the book. It's not possible to learn how to draw trendlines with only a couple of message board examples.
