@Iressent @tiddlywinks Using ya'lls financial astrological perspective & tools, what's your opinion on the correlation with this post? https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/bitcoin-price-thread.315402/page-837#post-6105732
but seriously, It got me a bit confused, i have been trading forex with hfm for a decade, and i still get surprised by some terminologies and strategies people come up with, like is financial astrology a thing? or just a glorified gambling skit?
I had a bit of a hick up in April during the tariff madness. I was using the wrong model, basically I overfitted. Since then I went back to studying and came up with a more robust model which seems to be performing much better. The back test shows about 2400 pips profit so far in 2025 with a 180 pips max DD. I started trading using the new model in May. https://www.myfxbook.com/members/Iressent/astrocycles100k/11398799
Well, I remain skeptical. A month of live data is far from conclusive – I’d wait for at least a quarter before considering astro signals credible. Experience taught me that without consistent edge over time, it’s just noise
I don't want to pull you down. I am in India and I am surrounded by financial astrologers. Your approach may be right. That is not the point of my contention. But I am just curious. You chose a forex pair. How do you link planetary movement to this forex pair? There must be a basis. Let me go into some detail. Suppose you trade, oil or ferrous metals, it is easy to identify planets related to these products, like for example Shani (Satrun) for ferrous metals or cotton, or oil, and Kuja(Mars) for health related stocks etc. Based on these planetary movements, astrologers predict performance of those scrips. You chose EuroUSD. How do you identify the relationship of these currencies with different planets? If you are able to do this, then, there is another forex pair USDEuro. This has to move in the exact opposite fashion. There must be some inverse planetary relationship there. Another point I want to make: Between your posts 23 and 24, you predicted the move to last until Tuesday, but you exited the position before the weekend. Why would you do that? In India, Astrology is used for many things like for starting new projects, matchmaking, going on travel, even stepping out of the house sometimes based on one's sentiments. I don't find anything wrong with this because I come from a family with some Vedic background. And, I also understand the resistance you face from the users of this site. I personally do not use astrology for trading because I have learnt other techniques which seem to work for me. If you give some basis for your trade, (need not give us all your secrets) it provides credibility to this thread, and makes it interesting.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it. At first I was using a Moon-Sun cycle on hourly chart. I used an algorithm to calculate the correct cycle. The issue with it was that it is not robust, it has periods during which it is extremely accurate and other periods when that is not the case. I now switched to a Bartels cycle which is more robust and consistently accurate. There is a thing called inverted curve which apparently work on some pairs. I am still relatively new to this so I am focused solely on EurUsd and so far it is going very well. I am planning to do research on other instruments as well once I master (hopefully) EU.
