A humble advice for you and @p0box4, You both are probably expert and profitable day traders. I enjoyed reading both your posts and learned a few things from you. I am thankful. It is great that you both are trying to help. However, don't forget, it is an anonymous forum and we are all anonymous. You have no idea who you are trying to help. @padutrader for all I know could be one of the best traders among us and is simply laughing at how naive we are. The only thing worth learning from padu, if they haven't learned themselves already, is what not to do.
discretionary does not mean you enter anywhere, exit anywhere. Brooks is of the view that classical technical analysis works. what is classical technical analysis? breakouts pullbacks which test the low/high and then the entry signal. the breakout may be above /below a bar or above a bear trend line or above a bull trendline. in the case of a break out above a bear trend line, the pull back is to the bear trend line and the entry is a good reversal bar. this is simple stuff and to call it discretionary, is totally misleading. It is rule based. you can use this and trade any sort of market. it is one 'rule' if you like. it also prevents over trading. and you trade the whole swing. And you also trade both ways bull and bear. Now you will ask how do i lose money doing this? well i do not do it. but i plan to do it from coming Monday this is Brooks trading plan. But he does not specifically call it that. with Brooks it is easy to get confused.

i read it too for a time. but their advice is so general it and they give no advice on how to follow it. for instance: things like you are too emotional is bull shit. how do you not get emotional? that they give no clue.they say i am an idiot. Fine .do they tell you how not to be one? Dont be emotional? another bull shit. they talk of back testing? is this a joke? back test breakouts and pull backs? are kidding me who is the idiot here? Trading comes down to technicals PUTTING SOMEONE down DOES NOT MAKE YOU GREAT
I dunno about that. First, Padu is a master bullshitter. So I take everything he sez with a grain of salt, especially about his losses. I mean, how the hell can you lose $250K from India while 50% of their population still live in poverty? Second, his knowledge of Al Brooks seems pretty suspect. Everything he's shown so far doesn't really resonate with anything that I know about Brooks. That's not to say I'm a Brooks follower or that I know everything about Brooks. But some of the things that Padu talks about just flies in the face of correct trading approach. Finally, all this wouldn't matter if he actually posts his damn trades in real time, as he promised to he would do at the outset of this thread. But I haven't seen a single trade to date. Instead he posts a chart that states the price but no indication of where the entry is on the chart. So I asked him on a numerous occasion to just manually write the damn entry/exit in the format that I personally use to post my trades, which you're probably already familiar with. But it ultimately fell on deaf ears. The dude is like a wall. Seriously So ultimately that's my gripe. Padu talks hell of a lot, in fact, too much. But he doesn't listen. At the end of the day, it's all about him and his opinion. You know what they call people like Padu? A friggin' narcissist.
