I got a bilingual Bible for Christmas, and since I already have a number of passages from the Bible memorized in English, memorizing them in Spanish as well will be a faster way for me to learn the language than what I started doing above (since I don't have the Librolibre.net text already established in my long-term memory, thus requiring me to, in effect, memorize the same material twice.) I will continue the above exercise also though, to help broaden my vocabulary, especially as relates to modern-day topics. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. As best as I can determine, the version of the Bible you used to learn the passages you've already memorize was Reina-Valer Antigua (RVA). The version you are now memorizing is Nueva Traducción Viviente (NTV), or the New Living Translation. Start analyzing the differences between the two to help deepen your understanding of Spanish.
