Maduro banned some of the major opposition readers from running and jail others, among other things. You know, it would be like the FBI creating an insurance policy to assure that a candidate who they had not pre-approved would not win. Could happen.

And the constituion says that when the presidential office is open or not validly held, then the presidency falls to the leader of their assembly. Interesting that the people of venezuela en masse believe that the Maduro's election was not valid due to his jailing of all the opposition, interesting that -all the OAS states in South America with the exception of Bolivia and a couple other countries believe that as well and have recognized the leader of the opposition. Include Canada, Australia, european countries etc. who recognize his greater legitimacy than Maduro, however messy the process may be.
